The Veterans Plaza and Museum has seen the donations flood in since Memorial Day of 2012.
Approximately $115,000 has been received. Wilson Bank & Trust donated $25,000, Kenwall Steel $10,000 and Lochinvar has donated $5,000. Once funded, the Park and museum will be located next to the courthouse in Lebanon.
Recently, Jodi Pennington, sponsor for the Golden Heroes Classic and American National Home Health Director presented a check to Veterans Service Officer Bernie Ash for the plaza for $350. Wilson ONE, a woman’s networking group bought a Circle of Support brick in honor of the local veterans.
“It takes organizations like Wilson ONE to make the Wilson County Veteran’s Park and Museum succeed,” Bernie Ash, veterans service officer said. “We’ve had many organizations step-up and we appreciate them all.”
Last Veterans Day, veterans services sponsored a 5K run with around 100 runners. In June, they sponsored the “Honor Ride for Vets” with over 150 motorcycle. They continue to sell T-Shirts and Memorial Bricks in the Veterans Office.
