|Tuesday, August 27, 2013|
Former County Commissioner, and long time Rotarian Mac McCluskey was honored by the Mt Juliet Breakfast Rotary Club Tuesday morning with a celebration of his 90th birthday and recognition of his life long service to Wilson county and the Mt Juliet community.
County Mayor Randall Hutto and Mt. Juliet May Ed Hagerty were both in attendance for the celebration and issued proclamations in McCluskey’s honor, declaring Tuesday, Aug. 20 as Mac McCluskey Day.
McCluskey has served his county and community for decades. He held a seat on the Wilson County Commission for 31 years, representing District 8. He was very active in the local Big Brothers for over 50 years. McCluskey takes great pride in the Wilson County Emergency 911 Board, which he was instrumental in starting in 1998, and bringing 911 service to the residents of Wilson County. He currently serves as chairman of that board.
McCluskey continues to be very active in the community, serving as chairman of several county boards and working with the Rotary Club on community projects.
