|New conference coming to The Glade Church|
|Tuesday, September 3, 2013|
In a culture that is becoming increasingly value-less, how does a person of faith live faithfully?
EXILE: Living Faithfully in a Hostile World, a conference sponsored by The Glade Church, will seek to help answer that question.
It will include two teaching sessions that directly engage cultural issues that people of faith regularly encounter.
The Glade Church, located at 9000 Stewarts Ferry Pike in Mt. Juliet, is committed to enabling individuals to live their faith and express it in the context of the most difficult cultural situations.
EXILE: Living Faithfully in a Hostile World is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 7 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at The Glade Church in Mt. Juliet.
The event includes two teaching sessions, followed by question and answer sessions. Refreshments will be served and activities provided for children (babies-3rd grade).
Online registration for the event is available at thegladechurch.org.
The speaker for the event is Trevin Wax, an engaging communicator and author who has dealt with various cultural topics in his writings.
Wax blogs weekly on his blog entitled Kingdom People.
Wax recently contributed an article to the New York Times entitled Science, Too, Calls for a Leap of Faith.
He has two books to be released in 2013, Clear Winter Nights: A Journey into Truth, Doubt, and What Comes After (Currently Available) and Gospel-Centered Teaching: Showing Christ in All the Scripture. (Available Oct. 1).
The Glade Church serves families in Wilson and the surrounding six counties.
