Man running from police locks down schools

A shoplifter running from the police put three schools on lockdown Wednesday. 

Troy Adams, 26, and Leverites Lawson, 23, both of Nashville, ran from Walmart with over $250 worth of stolen mechandise. Adams was quickly caught, but Lawson escaped into the wooded area. As a safety precaution, Mt. Juliet Chrisitan Academy, West Wilson Middle School and Stoner Creek Elementary were put on lockdown. 

Police were not able to locate Lawson, and when they confirmed he was no longer in the area, they lifted the lockdown. 

Lawson has active warrants for Theft of Merchandise and Evading Arrest. Adams was arrested and booked into Wilson County Jail. He was charged with theft of merchandise. He was also wanted by Metro-Nashville Police Department for a Failure to Appear charge.
