|Lane shifts on I-40 construction|
|Tuesday, October 29, 2013|
Tennessee Department of Transportation contract crews have shifted traffic on Interstate 40 eastbound under Mt. Juliet Road.
The shift is necessary to all crews to widen and lower the road so large vehicles will have the necessary clearance to get under Mt. Juliet Road. It splits eastbound lanes with one lane right of the work zone and two lanes to the left. This will last roughly two weeks, then will be shifted again. TDOT’s message board signs will locate motorists to the change.
This work is part of the $55 million widening of I-40 from Central Pike to east of State Route 109. This project is anticipated to be complete later this winter.
