Candidates pick up petitions for Aug. 7 election

Political candidates for the Aug. 7 election have started picking up their petitions.
Candidates have until April 3 at noon to file their petitions. They must have at least 25 registered voters to sign the petition to be able to run.
In the State Representative-Republican District 46, current representative Mark Pody is the only one that has picked up a petition so far.
Sitting State Senator Republican 17th District Mae Beavers has picked up her petition as well.
In the Wilson County Commissioner races, Becky Siever has picked up her petition for District 1. In District 4, Chad Barnard and Melani Stephens have both picked up their petitions. Frank Bush and Terry Duncan have picked up their petitions for District 8. Clint Thomas and Sonja Robinson have picked up their petitions for District 13. Lauren Breeze, Michael Cole and Terrell Muncher have picked up their petitions for District 18. J. Wendell Marlowe has picked up his petition for District 22. Luther Lenning and Randy Hall have picked up their petitions for District 25.
In the school board races, sitting Board Member Ron Britt has picked up his petition for Zone 4. Linda Armistead has picked up a petition for that zone as well.
County Clerk Jim Goodall has already filed his petion. Wilson County Mayor Randall Hutto and Wilson County Sheriff are the only ones that have picked up petitions in their races. William Robert Manley and Luther Lenning have picked up their petitions for Zone 1 and Zone 4 Constables.
