|Big concert experience coming to Mt. Juliet|

A new type of concert experience is making its way to Mt. Juliet.
Concerts Between the Lakes will kick off its summer series with family fun, Thursday, June 26 at Charlie Daniels Park. The night will be packed with talent, featuring an American Idol finalist, a chart topper, and a Las Vegas-style cover band that spans many genres.
Gates will open at 4 p.m. that day, with tickets being $8, kids 12-and-under get in free. All tickets are sold the day of the show and are general admission. The event is for families, and no alcohol will be served.
Organizers of the event said that there is music events going non-stop in Nashville, there is no reason that it shouldn’t be 20 minutes away in Mt. Juliet.
“We want to give people something in Mt. Juliet,” said Michael Carnes. “We have a park named after one of the icons of country music…We really are excited about it.”
Carnes said the park could hold as many as 10,000 people, so they would love to see that happen in the future as the event grows. There will be three more shows this year, and the hope is to grow it to as many as eight shows a year in the future. Each show this year will be different performers and genres.
The first act of the night will be Tim Urban, who was a finalist on American Idol in 2010. He will go on at 5:30 p.m. and be followed by Marc Scibilia at 6:30 p.m. Scibilia had a No.1 single on the iTunes charts called “How Bad We Need Each Other” which has been on several TV shows, including the Fox series Bones.
The night will close with the Nashvegas All Stars, a Las Vegas style, high energy cover band playing pop, blues, rock and country. They will hit the stage at 7:45 p.m. The show will close at 9:30 p.m.
In addition to the music, Pat Smage, whose motorcycle riding show competed on America’s Got Talent, will be entertaining the crowd. There will also be food and retail vendors around the venue. All performers will be available for autographs and meet and greets as well.
The event has been about a year in the making. Standing Ovation, a sports and entertainment management marketing company located in Mt. Juliet got together with city leaders to help bring a music event to the people of Mt. Juliet. TDS was very receptive to the idea from the beginning and the ball got rolling.
“We’ve got to take our hat off to TDS TV,” said Standing Ovation’s Monty Bailey. Family Campers would also come on board as a sponsor to make it happen.
Bailey said as the event grows, they hope to give money back to the park to continue to improve the Mt. Juliet Parks system.
