Encore hosting Phantom Ball

The board of Encore Theatre Company, Wilson County’s community theatre, is pleased to announce a new first prize has been added to their list of prizes in their upcoming “Phantom Ball” Saturday night, Oct. 13.

David Stephens of Kimber Dawn Gardens (formerly Juliet’s Wedding Chapel) in Mt. Juliet has offered a candlelight wedding ceremony and reception inside the theatre, a $1600 value, for the 1st Prize drawing at Encore’s Phantom Ball, in addition to the Grand Prize of $1,000 (in a reverse drawing). “I wanted to do something to help this charming Theatre in Wilson County,” Stated Stephens, “so I figured the best way is to offer a wedding and reception in the theatre. Encore’s board agreed. We are excited to help a lucky couple win a unique wedding.”

Woman shot multiple times on Beckwith Road

The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting on Beckwith Road Tuesday.

Gretchen L. Crowe, 29, was shot multiple times by Corey Montrell Clemmons, 38, at a residence at 5869 Beckwith Road. They were visiting family.

Brydalski running for City Commissioner

My name is Jonathan Brydalski and I have officially announced my candidacy for the office of Commissioner of District 1 in Mt. Juliet. I am a Christian husband and father. I live in Mt. Juliet with my beautiful wife Leigh who is a Registered Nurse in the Nursery/NICU unit at Stonecrest Hospital. We have been happily married for the last nineteen years. We have two daughters who attend Mt. Juliet High School. I am a graduate of Millsaps College in Jackson, Miss. and have a Bachelors degree in Business Administration.I have not held an elected public office before though previously I have been on the Mt. Juliet Beer Board, Chairman of the Traffic Committee, and currently serve on the Ethics Committee. I am a businessman by trait and have never been a career politician. 

Liquor stores on ballot, no provisions yet

On Nov. 6 Mt. Juliet residents will have the opportunity to vote whether or not they would like to allow package liquor stores to open in their City.  

The City Recorder of Mt. Juliet should have final results of that voting on Nov. 7. Certification of the vote result may take several weeks after Nov. 6.   

2nd annual Celebrate MJ Walk

The Second Annual Celebrate Mt. Juliet Walk to benefit the Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center is Saturday, Oct. 27, starting at 8 a.m. 

There will be a three and six mile walk, which will begin and end at the senior center.
