COLEMAN, Sr., Thomas Olan

Thomas Olan Coleman, Sr., age 92, a resident at Rutland Place in Mt. Juliet, TN, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010.  Mr. Coleman was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet and the Mt. Juliet Senior Citizens Center. He was retired from Beatrice Foods. Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mary Louise Coleman in 1997. He was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Lisa Slocum. He is survived by: daughter – Elizabeth “Lib” (Elton) Yoshida of Honomu, HI; son – Thomas “Tom” O. (Freda) Coleman, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren – Dina Demichelis, Chara (William “Bud”) Branam, Jada (Johnny) Trail, and Bree Coleman; great-grandchildren – Sloan, Peyton and Rylee Branam and Matthew, Nathan and Noah Trail; sister-in-law – Juanita Johnson of Eatonton, GA. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2010 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Bro. David Fallin officiating. Entombment will follow at Hermitage Gardens. Lillian Walpole Bowen, age 94 of Mt. Juliet passed away Monday, March 8, 2010. Preceded in death by husband, Hooper Bowen; daughter, Helen June Bowen; parents, Horace and Sophia Price Walpole; sisters, Ruby Dickens and Edna Lackey; brothers, Horace “Buster” Walpole and Tilghman “Buddy” Walpole. Survived by daughters, Loretta B. Lane of Gladeville and Deloise Smith (William) Woodall of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Eric and Michael Henry, Joe (Niki) Lane of Gladeville, Steve (Judi) Smith of Mt. Juliet, Julie (Scott) Terry of Essex Junction, VT; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jean Montgomery Campbell of Hermitage and Christine Clinton of Lebanon; sister-in-law, Pheleda Walpole of Mt. CROLEY, Prince

Prince Croley, age 71, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died Friday, March 5, 2010.  Mr. Croley was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church and was a former member of Green Hill Baptist and Dickerson Road Baptist Churches. He faithfully served God for many years as a deacon and as a Sunday School teacher. Mr. Croley was a graduate of Goodlettsville High School (Class of 1956) and Tennessee Technological University (Class of 1960) where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1960 to 1965. Mr. Croley was employed by SAFECO Insurance Company as a safety engineer for thirty years. As a Certified Safety Professional, he assisted for many years in his retirement with the State of Tennessee’s Driver Safety Program. Mr. Croley was a charter member of the Fiddlers Grove Woodcarvers Club, a Scout Master and an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by: Wife – Joyce Croley; Son – Grant (Cindy) Croley; Daughter – Jill (Andy) Wright; Sister – Shirley Briese; Sister-in-law – Joni (Jeff) Coleman; Grandchildren – Drew and Abby Wright. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, at Victory Baptist Church, 1777 Tate Lane, Mt. Juliet, TN with Rev. Chuck Groover, Rev. W.D. Thomason and Rev. Jerry Williams officiating. HURT, William L. “Buddy”

          William L. “Buddy” Hurt, age 72, of Mt. Juliet, passed away March 8, 2010. Buddy was a charter member of Victory Baptist Church and a former member of Green Hill Baptist Church. He retired form Dupont after 20 years of service. He served in the US Army from July 1957 to July 1960. Buddy loved camping, traveling and Mt. Juliet High School basketball. Preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Linda Duncan Hurt; parents Virgil and Naomi Hurt; brothers and sisters. Survived by daughters, Sharon (Kevin) Withrow, Susan (Greg) McRay; granddaughter, “Sweet” Caroling McRay, whom he adored; mother-in-law, Mary Ella Duncan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Delson and Barbara Jean Smith; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Ken Cates, Wayne Shull, Prince Croley (deceased). Special thanks to his caregiver Joan Murphree. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Victory Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Groover and Rev. W. D. Thompson officiating. Donna Jones, of Mt. Juliet passed away March 4, 2010 at the age of 56. Preceded in death by parents, Billy and Elizabeth Moss Paschall.           Funeral services for Mary Nell Tobitt, age 69, of Madison, were held Friday, March 5. She passed away suddenly on March 2, 2010. She was preceded in death by brothers Leroy and Lelon Richards. Survived by loving husband of 53 years Harvey Tobitt, son Scotty (Michele) Tobitt, daughter Toni Sadler, five grandchildren: Jonathan, Josh, Stetson, Taylor and Preston; three great-grandchildren: Jordan, Jessica, and Logan; brothers Ronnie, Jim, and Sammy Richards; sisters Georgia Dell Smith, Joanne Clinard, Judy Smith, Freida Manning. UCKERT, Charles Godford

Charles Godford Uckert, beloved son of Cia Cronin-Uckert and the late Charles Martin Uckert, passed away at the age of 21 on March 2, 2010, at his home in Mt. Juliet. He graduated from Wilson Central High School in 2007. Charles was born on October 22nd, 1988 in Florida and moved to Tennessee at the age of eleven. Survived by his mother, a son, three sisters, two brothers, three nephews, and six nieces. Visitation and funeral services will be held at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday, March 5, from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, March 6, at 10 a.m.
