James Thomas Jones,  71, Mt. Juliet, died Wednesday, Aug. 1. 

Jones was retired from CSX Railroad after 30 years of service. He is the son of the late, Charlie and Nannie Weston Jones. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Charles Jones and his sister, JoAnne Maxey.

He is survived by: daughter, Julie (Phillip) Stevens; sister, Mildred (Bob) Agee; brother, William “Bunky” Jones; grandchildren, T.J. Stevens, Derrick Letmer, Marks Beasley and Destiny Davenport; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services with military honors were conducted Wednesday, Aug. 15, at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Bud Maxey, Dana Hudson, Tommy Jones, Andy Jones, Matt Scharbach, Luther Lenning, Vincent Lenning and Chris Lenning.
