Carol Harris Thomas, 67, Mt. Juliet passed away Sept. 30.
Thomas graduated from Mt. Juliet High School in 1962. She was very active in the community, the historical society and church. She was a History teacher at Mt. Juliet High School. Thomas was preceded in death by parents, Bryan and Carrie Harris; and daughter, Tara Kay Thomas. She is survived by husband of 46 years, Paul Thomas; son, Bryan Thomas; sister, Kay Smith; brother, Kenneth Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Odyssey Hospice and Quality Care. Funeral services for Thomas was Tuesday, Oct. 2 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Bill Speight officiating. Interment followed the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Geric Smith, Kendall Smith, George Thomas, Rufus Page, Ralph Summers, Garnett Forkum, Kevin Reeves and Randy Harris serving as pallbeares. Honorary pallbearers were Carolyn Eakes, Sharon Reeves, Jimmy Tate, Doug Stilts, Gage Smith, Madeleine Smith, and Kennedy Smith. Visitation with the family was Monday, Oct. 1 and prior to the service on Tuesday, Oct. 2. Memorial contributions may be made to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and the March of Dimes.
