Peggy Elizabeth Patterson Beaty, “Granny”, 87, Hermitage, went Home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Friday, Nov. 2. 

Beaty was born Feb. 7, 1925 in Wilson County where she was raised by her share-cropper grandparents and uncle. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Melvin Beaty; grandparents, Andrew Jackson “Pappy” Patterson and Lucy Clemmons “Mammy” Patterson; uncle, John Harrison “Hap” Patterson and mother, Wheeler Bates Lunsford.

She is survived by: daughters, Burma (Bud) Shelton of Dallas, Texas, Brenda (Gerald) Bradley of Mt. Juliet, Lisa Beaty of Hermitage; grandchildren, Slade (Kirsten) Shelton of Germantown, Brandee (JD) Marshall of Lebanon, Bethany Shelton of Raymer, and Britnee (Justin) Johnson of Portland; great-grandchildren, Cavan Grist, Colby Shelton, Noah, Zack and Ethan Johnson and  Haylee and Brylee Marshall; sisters, Ruth Lunsford and Pat (Bob) Doremus; brothers, Ray (MaryRuth) Lunsford) and Robert (Ferrell) Lunsford; brother-in-law, Earl (Shirley) Beaty; sister-in-law, Buelah Mae Simms; numerous nieces and nephews, great and grand. 

Also left to celebrate her life is her church family of 50 years, Hermitage Hills Baptist Church, numerous friends, and lifetime friends, Foy Dell Harding, Jean Wright and Edna Mae Burke and her wonderful caring staff of Odyssey Hospice and special care by Jana and Lenika.

Services to honor her life were conducted Monday, Nov. 5 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Bro. Keith Smyser and Bro. David Taft officiating and special music by Pat Sonnier. Interment followed at Caraway Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Bud Shelton, Gerald Bradley, Slade Shelton, J.D. Marshall, Justin Johnson and Noah Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Fidelis and Winsome Sunday School Classes.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Hermitage Hills Baptist Church Building Fund, New Horizon Corporation (adults with disabilities) or Odyssey Hospice.
