Roy Davis Hall, 79, Mt. Juliet, died Wednesday, Nov. 14.
Hall was born Sept. 13, 1933 to the late, Vernon and Callie Ford Hall. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and veteran of the U.S. Army. In 1996, he retired from the State of Tennessee Department of Transportation with 35 years of service. Hall enjoyed coaching baseball and softball in the Mt. Juliet Little League, as well as the Junior Pro football program. He played baseball and football in his younger years, and he played softball with his church team until age 70. Mr. Hall was also preceded in death by his brothers, Paul, Troy and Darmon Hall and his sisters, Isabelle Birchett, Christine Jones and Ruth Green.He is survived by: wife of 55 years, Frances George Hall; daughter, Rachel (Ray) Hatcher; son, George Hall; grandchildren, Taylor Hall, Tucker Hall, John Hatcher, and Philip Hatcher; great-granddaughter, Haley Hatcher; sister, Eula Crain; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Nov. 16 at Victory Baptist Church, 1777 Tate Lane, Mt. Juliet, TN with Rev. Chuck Groover and Rev. W.D. Thomason officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Taylor Hall, Tucker Hall, John Hatcher, Philip Hatcher, Duane Garrett, Anthony Maxwell and Tommy Hibbett.
Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the building fund at Victory Baptist Church.
The Hall family would like to thank the medical staff at the Pavilion and Summit Medical Center for their care and compassion.
Visitation was Thursday at the funeral home and prior to services at the church.
