James Dillard Dutton, 72, Mt. Juliet, went to be with his Lord Thursday, Jan. 31.J.D. was born Nov. 26, 1940 in Dekalb County, TN to the late Selmer L. and Maude Crook Dutton. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and served as a Yoke Fellow. He was a graduate of North High School, Class of 1959 and served in the 530th Administration Company of the Tennessee National Guard. J.D. was a constable of Wilson County and a member of the Tennessee Constable Association, He was a member of the Mt. Juliet/West Wilson Lions Club and worked for the Mt. Juliet Police Department as a dispatcher for 18 years before retiring in May, 2006. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister, Fay Dutton Lowrance. He is survived by many friends and brothers and sisters in Christ.
Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 3, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chuck Groover and Chief James Hambrick officiating. Terry Ashe will deliver the eulogy. Interment with military honors followed at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Don Hamblen, Glen Hamblen, David Stolinsky, Wesley Neeley, Greg Graves and Jeff “Buck” Buchanan. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Mt. Juliet Police Department, the Wilson county Sheriff’ s Department, the Tennessee Highway Patrol of Wilson County, the Metro Police Department, members of the Wayne Oakley Sunday School Class of Victory Baptist Church, Bill Laney, Mike Hamblen and Dennis Buchanan.
