Wanda Boyd Newbold, 75, originally from Madison, was born on Dec. 16, 1937 and died Thursday, July 18.
She was the daughter of the late, Joel S. Boyd and Annie L. Collins Boyd. Also preceded in death by her husband, James William Newbold, is now reunited with him in heaven forevermore. Married on June 29, 1963 on the eastern shore of Maryland, their marriage was a rare, devoted love. Mrs. Newbold, graduated from George Peabody College for Teachers, where she went on to teach Home Economics in the Charles County Md. school system. She later resided in Mt. Juliet. For 30 years as a talented and influential school teacher, she influenced the lives of so many students, parents and friends alike. She will be remembered by those who know her best as a loving and loyal wife; caring and steadfast mother; an educator and friend of many. Words are so inadequate to describe the beautiful person she was. Her devotion, intelligence and generosity will be missed by so many.
She is survived by: daughters, Diana (Mark) Shellenberger of Allentown, Penn. and Kathleen Newbold of Old Hickory; sisters, JoAnne Boyd Slate and Carole Boyd Hulan; grandchildren, Jacob and Adam Shellenberger; Devon Newbold.
A Memorial Service was conducted Monday, July 22 at Bond Memorial Chapel with brother David Usry officiating.
