Eva Pearl Green Hiter, 85, Mt. Juliet, died Aug. 15.
Hiter was born in Warren County and was the daughter of the late, George Dewey and Mary McCormick Green. She was a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ. Hiter loved to sew and quilt. She also loved VBS and to serve others. Hiter was also preceded in death by her husband, of 57 years, Joseph William “Sugar Bump” Hiter and her siblings, Johnny Green and Leona Green Smith.
She is survived by: sons, John (Jan) Hiter and Joseph (Renetta) Hiter; daughters, Bennie Kay (Chuck) Mitter and Linda Sue Hiter; sister, Zada Green (Gordon) Mitchell; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Hiter was also a Foster Mother to 81 newborn babies she kept until adoption.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 19 at High Funeral Home, 101 N. College Street, McMinnville, TN with Tim Long officiating. Interment followed at Smyrna Cemetery.
The family requests no flowers please. Memorials may be made to Center Chapel Church of Christ Building Fund, Alive Hospice or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff and special people of Providence Place of Mt. Juliet – you enhanced her last years of life! They would also like to thank Dr. Enayat and the 7th floor nurses and technicians at Summit Medical Center and the staff at Alive Hospice Skyline Madison Campus.
Visitation was Monday at Bond Memorial Chapel and until service time Tuesday at High Funeral Home.
