James H. Demain, passed away Feb. 6 at the age of 81. 

Jim attended public schools in Youngstown, Ohio achieving both scholastic and athletic honors. He earned a football scholarship to Vanderbilt University and upon graduation served in the Army and was stationed in Germany for two years. After military service he returned to college to work on a Master’s Degree. This is when he met the love of his life, Marge, who he married in 1957. They have two children, Jim and Bill, who reside in Nashville and have achieved success in their business ventures. Jim worked for a major pharmaceutical company in New Jersey. He started as a salesman, and ended his career as a VP of Marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa which resulted in travel all over the world. Upon retirement Jim and his family enjoyed many trips together in the States as well as overseas. He also enjoyed golf, spectator sports, various hobbies and most of all his family.  Jim and Marge moved to the Nashville, TN area in 2010 to be near to their sons and daughter-in-law. He fought a long, hard battle with cancer the last 2.5 years of his life.

DeMain was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mae DeMain. 

He is survived by: his wife of 56 years, Margaret DeMain; and sons, James (Jeanette) DeMain and William DeMain.

Visitation with the family wa Sunday, Feb. 9 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 9 at 1:30 p.m.

Thomas M. Finn, 47, passed away Feb. 3, 2014. Survived by father, James A. Finn; brother, Henry (Deanna) Finn; sisters, Cathy (Bill) Gracey and Veronica Finn. Funeral services were Friday, Feb. 7, in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family and friends served as Pallbearers. Ronald Foster, Sr., 71, Mt. Juliet passed away Feb. 5. 

Foster was preceded in death by parents, Grills and Ruby Pearl Bates Foster; and brother, Ralph Foster. 

He is survived by: children, Alicia (Paul) Allen, Rhonda (Tim) Allison, Ronnie (Stephanie) Foster, Jr. and April (Tina Peters) Foster; several step-children including Evelyn Buysman and Stephen Gass; grandchildren, Matthew Allen, Landon Buysman, Bryce Allen, Robin Peters, Jared Allen, Summer Foster, Nicole Arrowood, Brandon Peters, Spring Foster and Winter Foster; great-grandchild, Railyn Buysman; and niece, Carrie Tripp.

Funeral services were Saturday, Feb. 8th at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. David Shannon officiating. Interment followed the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Kenneth Bates, Landon Buysman, Charles Thurman, Bryce Allen, Matthew Allen, Patrick Foster, Jared Allen and Josh Haynes serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family was Friday, Feb. 7 and Saturday, Feb. 8 until time of service.

Emory Howard Mays, 76, Lebanon, died Feb. 8.

Mays was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was the son of the late, Paul Wilson and Kathleen Howard Mays. Mr. Mays was also preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Mays and his sister, Pat Bentley.

She is survived by: daughter, Kathy Sharber; brothers, Ben Mays and Bill Mays; grandchildren; Brent Kerney and Matt Sharber; great-grandchildren; Austin Kerney, Sammy Kerney, Lilli Kerney and Carson Sharber

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home in Kingsport. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Park. 

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Bond Memorial Chapel and one hour prior to service time Friday at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home.

Donna Pirtle, 43, Hermitage passed away Feb. 4. 

She is preceded in death by father, Guy Yelton. 

She is survived by: husband, Donnie Pirtle; children, D. J. and Daisy Pirtle; mother, Nancy Yelton; brother, Jim Rector; and sisters, Cindy Rector, Rebecca (Scooter) Burton and Diana Yelton.

Memorial service were Saturday, Feb. 8 at Grace Place, 4316 Central Pike, Hermitage, with Pastor Danny Sellars officiating. Visitation with the family was 9:30 am until time of service at the church.
