Michael Wayne “Mike” Erwin, 61, of the LaGuardo Community died May 14, at Centennial Medical Center.  Born in Bridgeport, Ala., he was the son of the late William Wiley Erwin and Frances Montgomery Erwin. He was a 1972 graduate of Gallatin High School and a member of First Presbyterian Church Gallatin. He worked for TVA Gallatin Stream Plant.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Erwin Moffitt. 

He is survived by: wife of 35 years, Karen McDaniel Erwin; two daughters, Shelby (Jeremy) Lee, Lindsey (James) Holodnak; three grandchildren,  Madelyn Grace Lee, Makenna Hope Lee, Macy Faith Lee; two sisters,  Diane (Walter) Elliott, Laurie (Teddy) Stewart; father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Gloria McDaniel; brother-in-law, Larry McDaniel; sister-in-law, Diane (Bryan) McFarland; nieces,  Larissa Grimes, Meagan McFarland, Ashlee Stucki, Kristi McDaniel; nephews,  Chuck, Luke, Andy and Noah Stewart, Steve and Ben Elliott, Brian Moffitt, Doug McDaniel.

Graveside services were Sunday, May 1,  atthe LaGuardo Cemetery with Rev. Carl Price and Rev. Michael Crenshaw officiating.  

Honorary pallbearers are:  John Murley, Brad Gryszko, Ruth Shehane;  Active pallbearers are:  nephews and Stephen Dedman.  Visitation was Saturday at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mike’s Grandchildren’s Education Fund at Wilson Bank and Trust.

Randall Everett Gray, 77, Hermitage, died May 13. 

Gray was a member of Eastland Baptist Church and was a Mason. He was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School and was a former employee of Sunshine Cracker Company, Rabold Brokerage Company and Advantage Sales and Marketing. Gray was the son of the late, Howard Edward and Lydia Christine Denny Gray.

He is survived by: children, Keith (Debra) Gray, Beth (Jerry) Woodard, Ryan Gray, and Kelsey (Kip) Johnson; brother, Ed Gray; sister, Sandra (Lee) Harris; grandchildren, Von, Brian (Sarah), Amanda (David), Sara Jane, Karson, and Konner; great-grandchild, Tinley; nephew, Kevin (Tracy) Harris; great-nephews, William and Edward.

Jean Malone, 86, Mt. Juliet passed away May 12. 

She is preceded in death by: parents, Drew and Cordie Collins; husband, Raymond Malone; six brothers; and five sisters. 

She is survived by: children, Ginger (Gary) Dorris, Vicki (special friend, Rita Cook) Malone and Wendell Malone; grandchildren, Ashley (Mike) Hickerson, Gregory Dorris, Kelly (Mark) Puget, Drew Malone and Savannah Davis; great-grandchildren, Bailey Rollins, Erik Roberson, Cory Roberson, Brooklyn Puget, Brayden Hickerson and Haven Hickerson; and beloved sister-in-law, Mary Jo Sircy.

Funeral services were  Friday, May 15 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Rev. Danny Sellars officiating. Interment followed the service at Leeville Cemetery with Mike Hickerson, Drew Malone, Gregory Dorris, Mark Puget, Gary Dorris, Wendell Malone and Brayden Hickerson serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family was Thursday, May 14 from and Friday, May 15 from until time of service.

Steven Michael Simpson, 66, Mt. Juliet, died May 16. 

Steven was a member of the XX Hunting Club.

He is preceded in death by his father, Fred G. Simpson.

He is survived by: mother and stepfather, Bettye and Charles Wilhite of Coconut Creek, Fla.; wife, Priscilla Simpson; son and daughter-in-law, Troy (Whitney) Simpson; daughter, Jennie Simpson, all of Mt. Juliet; brothers and sisters-in-law, Brent Simpson, Curtis (Rhonda) Simpson, all of Boca Raton, Fla., Chris (Susan) Simpson of Evansville, Ind.; sister and brother-in-law, Jan (Richard) Lappan of Jacksonville, Fla; grandsons, Drew and Leo Simpson.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 20, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jeff Streszoff officiating. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Members of XX Hunting Club will serve as pallbearers.

Mary C. Atwell, Old Hickory, 92, passed away May 5. Mary was a homemaker in Old Hickory and a member of Old Hickory United Methodist Church. 

Preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Roy “Buck” Atwell, Jr. 

She is survived by: her children, Jim Atwell (Koko), Linda Atwell and Ken Atwell (Debbie); sister, Ruby Schmidt; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephew and other friends and family. 

A funeral service was Saturday, May 9, at Hermitage Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family was Friday and prior to the service at the funeral home.
