John Morgan Moss, 89, Mt. Juliet, died June 2. 

Moss was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was a farmer for many years and part owner of Moss, Inc. where he gave people much advice about gardening. Moss served on the Wilson County Agricultural Committee and the Wilson County Election Committee. He was a member of the Wilson County Agriculture Hall of Fame and the Mt. Juliet Lodge No. 642 F&AM. Moss also loved to travel. He was the son of the late, Charlie and Florence Beasley Moss. Moss was also preceded in death by his son, John Dale Moss and four siblings.

He is survived by: wife of 61 years, Martha Moss; sons, Louis Moss, Mack (Terri) Moss and Kyle Moss; sister, Alice M. Trice; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chuck Groover officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Men’s Sunday School Class at Victory Baptist Church.

Jacob Daniel Pace, age 24, Mt. Juliet, died May 28.

Jake was baptized at First Baptist Church in Perry, Ga. and was currently attending Joy Church. He was a 2008 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School. Jake was employed at Fuse Sports Club at Gaylord Opryland and had formerly been employed by Cracker Barrel in Mt. Juliet. He was an excellent musician and an avid video gamer. Jake was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold L. and Virginia M. Pace and maternal grandfather, Harold Arthur Boehner.

He is survived by: father, Dale Pace; mother, Anita Pace; brother, Brian Pace; maternal grandmother, Lena Mayola Chapman; uncle, Dan Pace; girlfriend, Chantel Chandler.

Funeral services were Monday, June 2 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.

Billy L. Thomas, age 67 of Mt. Juliet passed away May 26. 

Thomas worked as a foreman for the L&N Railroad. Mr. Thomas was preceded in death by parents, Wigg Leon & Samantha Thomas; and brother, Bobby Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Janice Thomas; son, Kevin (Hee) Thomas; brother, William Thomas; grandchildren, Sydney and G. G. Thomas; and special friend, Lil Girl.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all who provided in his health care. 

Funeral services were Friday, May 30 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Interment followed the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Jeff Groves, William Thomas, Randy Thomas, Michael Thomas, Kevin Thomas, Lanny Groves and Terry Groves serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family was Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30.

Joseph Earl Hayes, of Mt. Juliet, died May 21. 

Hayes was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was retired after 42 years from the Federal Food and Drug Administration and was an avid Auburn football fan. Mr. Hayes was the son of the late, William Howard and Inamyrl Payne Hayes.

He is survived by:  wife of 50 years, Andrea Hayes; sons, Alan (Melissa) Hayes, Andy (Shannon) Hayes, Jim (Melissa) Hayes and John (Andrea) Hayes; grandchildren, Olivia, Matthew, Allyson, Hailee, Jordan, Joey, Jimmy, Zoe and Ava

Funeral services were Sunday, May 25 at Victory Baptist Church, 1777 Tate Lane, Mt. Juliet, TN with Rev. Chuck Groover officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers were grandsons and brothers-in-law. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Wayne Oakley Sunday School Class.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church Building Fund, 1777 Tate Lane, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122. 

Visitation will be 12-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time Sunday at the church.

Robert Alvis Jones, 74, Old Hickory, died May 21. 

Jones was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was the son of the late, Alvus Clyde and Sarah Elizabeth Blankenship Jones. Mr. Jones was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Long Jones and his brother, Steve Randle Jones.

He is survived by: daughter, Tonya Palmer-Jones and Allen Waddle; sister, Sara Ann (Johnny) Robertson; nieces, Heather Robertson and Janice Burgette; nephew, Dale Jones; puppy dog, Teaka; granddog, Daisy and Grandcat, Destiny.

Funeral services with military honors were Friday, May 23, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Khette Cox officiating.
