Minnie Pauline Bayer,  90, Lebanon, died May 6.

Minnie was the receptionist for the Mt. Juliet Senior Center and a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post No. 8672 in Jarrettsville, Maryland.

She is preceded in death by: her parents, Schaffer and Mattie (Blandford) Harry; husband, Joseph Frederick Bayer, and sister, Patsy Sawdy.

She is survived by: sons and their spouses, Skip (Robin) Wilkins of Baltimore, Md., Cris (Gay Lynn) Wilkins of Baldwin, Md., Robert (Linda) Wilkins of Jarrettsville, Md., Michael (Richard Burns) Bayer of Towson, Md., Ron (Tammy) Bayer of Lebanon; grandchildren, Jamie Wilkins, Gary Wilkins, Alley Wilkins, Nick Wilkins, Jessica Gilley, Steve Bayer, Steve Hull; great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Gill, Neila Kramer, Landon Gilley, Liam Gilley, Ollie Bair; friend, Kathy Sabourin.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date in Maryland.

Joshua Ryan Callis, age 31, Mt. Juliet, died May 9. 

Josh was a member of Joy Church. He was a 2002 graduate of Wilson Central High School. Josh loved automobiles, video games and food. He was preceded in death by his Grandfathers, Perry Callis and Al Clark and his aunt, Karen Harward.

She is survived by: parents, Tim and Beth Callis; brother, Joe Callis; grandmothers, Betty Callis and Libby Clark; uncles, Bert (Lynn) Clark, Wesley Clark and Michael Harward; aunts, Past (Jackie) Cook and Sonja (Rick) Hunolt; several cousins; girlfriend, Jackie Zweck.

Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday, May 14 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rob Simms officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Chester Campbell, Jeff Fite, Matt Comer, Kerry Siergert, Justin Jordan, Michael Oliver and John Oliver. Libra Gertrude Flatt, 97, Old Hickory passed away May 3. 

Flatt was a Docent for Tulip Grove Mansion. Preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm Flatt; son, John Earl Flatt; grandson, Aubrey Flatt. Survived by her sons, Malcolm Thomas Flatt, William Ewing Flatt (Linda), Robert Clyde Flatt (Sylvia) and Emmett Lee Flatt (Phyllis); grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was Saturday, May 9, at the Hermitage Funeral Home with Pastor Jud Hays officiating. Burial followed in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family was Friday and prior to the service at the funeral home.

Barbara Gale Barnes Howell, 74, Mt. Juliet, died May 5. 

Howell was a faithful member of Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church for many years.

She was the daughter of the late, James and Margie Reeves Barnes.

She is survived by: husband of 55 years, James Mark Howell; son, Jeff Howell; daughter, Michelle (David) Watson; grandchildren, Joshua (Becky) Howell, Jessi (Joseph) Hiett, Ethan (Mary Ann) Watson and Evan (Rachel Reed) Watson; great-grandchildren, Jay, Ben and Luke Howell, Hannah Hiett and Raelyan Layla Watson

Funeral services were Friday, May 8, at Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 595 W. Division Street, Mt. Juliet, TN with Pastor Mike Reese officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Family will serve as pallbearers.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Building Fund at Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 595 W. Division Street, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122.

Sharon Elaine Lester,  64, Mt. Juliet, died May 8. 

Sharon attended New Life Ministries. She was a former employee of J.C. Penney. Sharon loved golf, gardening, flea markets and her dogs. She was the daughter of the late, Charmere and Hattie Lucille Dunkleberger Faull. Sharon was also preceded in death by her brother, Norman Sprague.

She is survived by: husband of 48 years, Bill Lester; daughter, Angela (Michael Carr) Lester; nephews, Jimmy Sprague and Buddy Sprague.

Funeral services were Tuesday, May 12, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor George Wallace officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Family will serve as pallbearers.
