Donovan Buchanan Walden, 23, born Jan. 9, 1991, Donovan Walden passed away peacefully at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital Jan. 30, after succumbing to illness. He will be dearly missed. Donovan Buchanan Walden is survived by his parents, Preston and Deborah Walden of Mt. Juliet. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Lois Walden of Mt. Juliet and Robert and Reba Davis of Waverly.

Throughout his youth he was involved in Mt. Juliet Challenger Little League Baseball, Tennessee Special Olympics and the Shooting Stars Basketball League. In 2008, he was presented the Lifetime Achievement Award by Empower Me Day Camp in Lebanon. His other interests included bluegrass music, hunting, fishing and camping.

Funeral services were Sunday, Feb. 2 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. David Shannon officiating. Interment followed the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family was Saturday, Feb. 1 and Sunday, Feb. 2 until time of service.

Dorothy Brumbach, 76, Mt. Juliet, passed away Jan. 25. 

She is preceded in death by parents, George and Lucy Killingsworth; and husband, Frank P. Brumbach, IV. 

She is survived by: daughter, Deb Suddarth and fiancé, Martin; sons, Gary Brumbach and Ed (Leslie) Brumbach; grandchildren, Christina and Justin (Bethany) Lackey, Sydney, Payton and Skylar Brumbach; and great-grandchild, Faithlynn Dorothy Parks.

Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 27 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Daryl Crouch officiating. Interment followed the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.Visitation with the family was Monday, Jan, 27 until time of service.

Barret Smith, 21, Mt. Juliet passed away Jan. 18. 

Funeral Mass was Friday, Jan. 24 at St. Stephens Catholic Community with Father Patrick Kibby officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Mike Cushman, Dave Stettler, Lloyd Sills, Preston Rice, Jacob Wigginton and John Reams serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family was at St. Stephens Catholic Community Thursday, Jan. 23 with vigil.

He is preceded in death by grandfather, Lloyd Sills. 

He is survived by: parents, Randy and Tammy Smith; sister, Brittany (Tyler) Barefield; niece, Charlie Barefield; grandparents, Lennie Sills and Willard and Barbara Smith; aunts, Wendy Kinderman, Myra (Mike) Cushman, Laura (Dave) Stettler and Lisa Harrelson; uncle, Lloyd (Camille) Sills; and numerous cousins.

Weston, Sr., Freddie M., 79, Mt. Juliet, died Jan. 20. 

Weston was retired from the Bell South System/AT&T. He was a lifelong farmer and a charter member of the Mt. Juliet Lions Club. Weston was a local politician serving from 2002 to present as a Wilson County Commissioner. He served as a Mt. Juliet City Commissioner from 1985-1997. He was currently serving on the Cable TV Committee, Minutes Committee, Stearing Committee and the Public Works Committee. He had previously served on the Rules Committee and the Back Taxes Committee. Weston was the son of the late, Thomas Ernest and Nell Osment Weston. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Tom E. Weston, Charles M. Weston, Margaret W. Brown, Mary W. Johnston and Eddie Nell Greeson.

He is survived by: wife of 62 years, Betty N. Weston, sons, Freddie M. (Trudie) Weston, Jr. and Ricky (Randi) Weston, daughters, Beverly (Billy) Young and Lynn W. (Charlie) Cooperider; grandchildren, Kenny (Amanda) Dunnavant, Brooke W. (Jonathan) Hines, Brett (Morgan) Terry, Ian Terry, Wesley Dunnavant, Ben Dunnavant, Ethan (Jessica) Weston, Billy Young, III, Bobby (Julie) Young, Kelli (Andy) Lacy, Tyler (Christina) Cooperider and Kayla Cooperider; great-grandchildren, Weston Hines, Pressley Hines, Wyatt Terry,  Jacob Dunnavant, Savannah Dunnavant, Lilly Cooperider, Brayden Lacy and Lucas Lacy; several nieces and nephews and is 4-legged pal, Cummins.

Funeral services were Friday, Jan. 24, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Alan Herd officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers were grandsons.
