George Robert Fleming, 87, Donelson, died July 5. 

Fleming was employed by IBEW Local No. 429 for over 20 years. He was a past member of Cumberland Lodge No. 8 F&AM, the York Rite and Al Menah Shrine Temple. Fleming was the son of the late, Jasper and Allie Fleming. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Fleming and his son, George “Randy” Fleming.

He is survived by: daughter, Nancy Mathis; daughter-in-law, Laurie Fleming; grandchildren, Denise (Greg) Nash, Melissa Walker, Greg (Jenny) Mathis, Wayne (Katherine) Mathis, Heather (Tim) Cook and Christopher Fleming; great-grandchildren, Jim Waters, Jessica Waters, Jordan Waters, Michael Walker, Sarah Mathis, Elliot Mathis, Jovie Mathis and Autumn Cook; special friend, Marcelle Talley; good friend, Joe Hicks.

Graveside services with military honors will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 9 at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Groover officiating. Grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

William Hagar Hicks, Jr., 74, Mt. Juliet, died July 3. 

Hicks completed a five year apprenticeship program for the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committees for the Electrical Industries. He was retired from DuPont after 35 years of service. Hicks was a farmer in Gladeville and raised beef cattle. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his family. Hicks was preceded in death by his father, William Hagar Hicks, Sr. and his daughter, Sissy Hicks. 

He is survived by: wife of 31 years, Reba Hall Hicks; mother, Alton Mary Hicks; daughters, Becky Stewart and Mary Jane Hicks; sons, Randy Phelps, Jr. and Brett Phelps; grandchildren, Graham (Ginger) Stewart, Shelley Stewart, Stephanie Borden, Abby Phelps, Kassie Williams                        and Zoe’ Williams

Funeral services were Saturday, July 5 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.

Kristian Lynn Linton, 28, died Sunday, June 29. 

She is survived by: her husband, John Linton; son, Maxwell David Linton; parents, Shane and Melissa Ray; brother, Brandon (Angel) Crossland Ray.  

Visitation was Thursday, July 3, at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing in Nicholasville, KY. Funeral followed at 7 p.m.

There was a second visitation held Saturday, July 5, at Trace Creek Baptist Church in Mayfield, Kentucky with a funeral following. Burial will follow at the Spence Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery. www.clarklegacycenter.com.

Martha Gayle Newsom, 79, Mt. Juliet, died June 30. 

Newsom was retired from Sears. She enjoyed her cats and gardening. Newsom was the daughter of the late, Will Allen and Mildred Jones Lowery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Newsom.

She is survived by: son, Scottie (Rhonda Winnett) Newsom; daughter, Debbie (Mike) Stagner; sister, Kaye Wright; grandchildren, James Scott (Kendall) Newsom, Jr., William Austin Newsom, Matthew Christopher Stagner and Whitney Leigh Stagner.

Graveside services were Thursday, July 3 at Hermitage Memorial Gardens with William Wiley officiating.

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to the Humane Society.

Christopher Wayne Robinson, 44, Mt. Juliet, died July 5.

Chris was a member of Green Hill Church. He was employed as a warehouse manager at Associated Equipment.

He is survived by: wife of 17 years, Debbie Gardner Robinson; parents, Johnny and Mary Robinson; children, Bailey Robinson, Abby Robinson and Patrick Robinson; brother, Will (Amber) Robinson; grandmothers, Mary Faye King and Naomi Robinson; sisters-in-law, Gina (Richie) Bilbrey and Liz Jones; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Daryl Crouch officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Tom Spears, Jeremy Hunley, Phillip Arrington, James Tuney, Bob Bauman and Chris Risher. Honorary pallbearers will be Bailey Robinson, Richie Bilbrey, John Wayne Davis, Cole Jones, Garrett Bilbrey and Bart Hughes.
