Charles Dale Allmon, 75, Hermitage passed away July 28. 

Allmon worked for Ford Glass for 32 years. He was preceded in death by parents, Elzia and Maude Allmon; and sister, Jean Vantrease. 

He is survived by: wife, Diane Allmon; children, Angie Nelson and Charlie (Blakley) Allmon; sister, Lelar Carr; grandchildren, Michael Nelson, Kaylee Nelson, Allie Nelson, Savannah Allmon and Aniston Allmon; great-grandson, Noah Dale Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 31 at 5 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Entombment will follow the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, July 30 from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, July 31 from 2-5 p.m.

Major David Lawrence Devendorf (ret.), 85, Hermitage, died July 25. 

Lawrence was retired from the USAF with 20 years of service. He was also retired from the FAA Federal Aviation with 20 years of service. Mr. Lawrence was a member of the American Legion Donelson Post No. 88 for 38 years. He was the son of the late, Edward C. and Emma Ackerman Devendorf. Mr. Lawrence was also preceded in death by his wife, Wylodene “Litt” Devendorf and 3 brothers.

He is survived by: wife, Brenda Devendorf; son, Mark (Barbara Devendorf; sister, Gretchen Harvell; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Fred Poe officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. 

Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Linda England, 67,  Lebanon, died July 22. 

England was a graduate of Isaac Litton High School where she was a part of the 1964 All-Nashville Basketball Team. She was a Professional Angler for 20 years and the all-time money winner and champion world-wide in women’s bass fishing. Along with Fredda Lee, she opened the door for other women to be able to compete in B.A.S.S. Tournaments. She and Fredda were authors of a book titled Bass on the Line; they did a segment on Channel 4 with Rudy Kalis called Fishing Tips and had their own Television show called On the Line with Linda England and Fredda Lee. Linda later was a realtor with Twin Teams Properties where she was a multimillion dollar real estate producer. She was the daughter of the late, Mason and Frankie Malone Pearl. Linda was also preceded in death by her brother, James Pearl.  

She is survived by: wife, Fredda Lee; daughters, Tatia England, Tracy Eaves and Kim Bryant; brother, Steven (Cherie) Pearl; sisters, Shirley Kellam, Vonda Edwards, Jackie (Robert) Laramore; grandchildren, Victoria Diane England, Kelsie (Travis) Fernandes and Megan; nieces and nephew, Robbie (Tim) Roberts, Maggie Roberts and Siler Roberts.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 26, at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Spring Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Charles Malone, Mark Malone, James Malone, Gary Boyce, Larry Bryant and Matt White. Tim Roberts will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Joseph Lee Lemmonds, Sr., 62, Hermitage, died July 25.

Lemmonds was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was the recipient of two purple hearts. Lemmonds was a member of the American Legion Donelson Post No. 88. He was a member of the National and the Tennessee Burglar Alarm Associations. Mr. Lemmonds was the son of the late, Billy Wilson Lemmonds, Sr. and Reba Jean Melton. He was also preceded in death by his son, Justin Lee Lemmonds.

He is survived by: wife of 42 years, Sandra Lemmonds; son, Joseph Lee (Alicia) Lemmonds, Jr.; brothers, Monty (Judy) Lemmonds, Billy Lemmonds, Jr, and Billy Lemmonds; sisters, Cynthia Carlton, Donna Harrison, Tammy Lemmonds, and Angel Lemmonds; brothers-in-law, Jackie Rhea Pugh and John (Patti) Pugh; sister-in-law, Melissa (Brent) Johnson and their daughter Hope; grandchildren, Jordan Smiddy and Prestin Lee Lemmonds; several beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was Monday, July 28 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chuck Groover officiating.

Catherine Kaye Orvis, 66, Mt. Juliet passed away July 27. 

She was an amazingly funny and kind person. Preceded in death by mother, Betty Irick. Survived by husband, William Orvis; father, William B. Irick; children, Scott (Sherrie) Orvis, Sara (Elias) Perry and Jessica Orvis.
