Gary Lamar Deaton, 74, Mt. Juliet died Feb. 25. 

Deaton was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet and had served in the Tennessee Army National Guard. He was the son of the late, Johnnie Leo Deaton, Sr. and Lessie Mae Richardson Deaton. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Johnnie Leo Deaton, Jr. and sister, Jane Usery.

He is survived by: wife, Amy House Deaton; daughters, DeAnna Frances (Frank) Casteel and Gary Ann (Kerry) Beason; brother, Donald Ray “Bo” (Gaye) Deaton; sisters, Virginia Wilson, Joan (Bill) Holder and Angelyn Golmon; grandchildren, Nicholas Beason, Savannah Beason and Sophie Beason; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Gwen Phillips and her family; brother-in-law, Andy House and his family. 

Funeral services were. Saturday, March 1, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Billie Friel officiating. Graveside services were Sunday, March 2 at Cagel Cemetery in Deanburg. Active pallbearers were Kerry Beason, Frank Casteel, Andy House, Harold Phillips, Nick Beason and Keith Deaton. Honorary pallbearers were Bo Deaton, Bob Bull, James Laster, Jim Eaton, Lester Smith, Jr., Bill Young, Judd Hayes, Harold McDowell, Morris Adcock, The Pastor’s Sunday School Class and the Bob Bull Sunday School Class. 

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to The Gideons International, West Wilson Camp, P.O. Box 343, Mt. Juliet, TN 37121.

Kenneth Fay Driver, Mt. Juliet, passed away March 1 at the age of 82. 

Driver was born Dec. 17, 1931 in Macon County to Carson and Alline Driver. A graduate of Red Boiling Springs High School, Kenneth (better known as “Short”) met and married Lou Vania Hudson on July 2, 1954. 

He is survived by: brother, Bill Driver and wife, Shirley of Mt. Juliet; daughter, Kristi Driver of Raleigh, NC, son, Kevin Driver and wife Donna; three granddaughters, McKenna Driver, Morgan Driver and Caylin McGuire, numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral service was Tuesday, March 4 at Hermitage Funeral Home. Entombment followed at Hermitage Memories Mausoleum. Visitation with the family was Monday, March 3 and prior to the service Tuesday at Hermitage Funeral Home.

Deborah Ferguson,  60, Mt. Juliet, died peacefully in her sleep Feb. 25, surrounded by her family. Deborah was a graduate of the County College of Morris in New Jersey where she earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree. Following her graduation, Deborah subsequently practiced as a Registered Nurse. She was a wonderful and dedicated mother of three and grandmother of five and a loving sister. 

She is survived by: children, Elizabeth (Ted) Spatz, Dana (John) Dowling and Dennis James (Lisa) Hock, Jr.; brother John (Lydia) Ferguson; Sister, Kathy (Keith) Zazarro; grandchildren, David Spatz, Gabriel Spatz, Christopher Dowling, Kayleigh Dowling and Dennis James Hock, III. 

Deb lived life to the fullest at every opportunity, laughing, loving, and being supremely kind to the very end. Her last wish was to become an organ donor so that she may touch the lives of those in desperate need for that ultimate and most precious gift of life. Her last wishes were fulfilled and that embodiment of her kindness will hopefully live on in those she will have helped to save. We love you Deborah, and you shall always live on in our hearts and our memories.

Flora T. Guadagno, 88, Antioch, died Feb. 26. 

Guadagno was preceded in death by her father, Arthur E. Moeller; mother, Flora (William) Chamberlain and sister, Elaine Moeller.

She is survived by: daughter, Gale (Jose) Sanjurjo of Edgewater, Fla.; grandson, Michael (Stephanie) Sanjurjo of Edgewater, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Lauren and Cameron Sanjurjo of Edgewater, Fla.; sister, Marion Moeller of Mt. Juliet; step-sister, Isabelle (Jack) Tolnes of Castleton, Vt.; nine nieces and nephews.

Maria Flor Russell, 30, McMinnville died Feb. 27.

She is survived by: husband, Ray Russell; daughters, Lily Russell and Lizzy Russell; parents, Frederico and Mary Jane Potot; sisters, Mary Fe, Marites, Jackie, Mary Ann, Mary Rose and Mariel; father-in-law and Mother-in-law – Joe and Debbie Shipley.

Funeral services will be conducted in Honolulu, HI with burial at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park in Kaneohe, HI.
