Minnie Greenwood, 72, Mt. Juliet passed away Aug. 31. 

Preceded in death by: parents, Arthur and Laura Blaylock; brothers, Sylvester, Silas, Clayton, Emanuel, Winford, Arlan, and Kaford Blaylock; and sisters, Anna Lou Walker, Jean Mann, and Emma Lou Blaylock. 

Survived by: husband, Dean Greenwood; sons, Randall Dean Greenwood and Stanley Edwin (Jeannie Marie) Greenwood; daughter, Melissa Carol Dickens; sister, Shirley (Donald) Tidwell and grandchildren, Taylor Lyn Dickens, Laydon Dean Greenwood, Ethan Cole Greenwood and Parker Edwin Greenwood.

Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 2 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Rev. Danny Sellars officiating. Interment followed the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Stanley Greenwood, Melvin Blaylock, Jeff Dickens, Aaron Lyons, Dillon Clairborne, and Jeff Carter serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are: David Garcia and Mike Walpole. Visitation with the family was Sunday, Sept. 1 and Monday, Sept. 2 until time of service.

Charles H. Kinnear Sr., 87, Mt. Juliet died Monday, Aug. 26.  It was  Kinnear’s desire to be cremated. His services will be private.

Lieutenant Colonel Robert Hunter Lindsey, Jr. from Mt. Juliet, passed away Aug. 23. 

He was born in Baltimore, Md., Aug. 9, 1971, to Robert and Mary Ann Lindsey. After graduation from the University of Georgia, he began his military career in the United States Army. He served in Korea, Macedonia, Bosnia, and Kosovo, as well as taught at the United States Military Academy. He earned a Master’s degree from Vanderbilt University in 2004, and was most recently working towards his PhD.

He is survived by: his wife, Jenn; his sons Bennett and Jackson, and his sister Robin Dake. He was a very dedicated husband, father, and proud military officer.

He touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to www.fisherhouse.org.

A memorial service was Aug. 30 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Inurnment will follow the service at the Nashville National Cemetery.

Bernice Hilburn Turner, 86, Nashville, died Friday, Aug. 16.  

Turner was a musician who played rhythm guitar with the late Hank Williams in the 1940s and later ran a successful customized bus business for performers.

Memorial services were conducted in Memphis.

Wayne Brown, 72, Mt. Juliet passed away Aug. 22. 

Brown was preceded in death by: parents, Horace and Etna Brown; wife, Wanda Rose Brown; son, Gerald Wayne Brown; and siblings, Marlene Bowden, Nina Kohm, George Blair and Donan Blair. 

He is survived by: son, Jeffery (Mary Hamm) Brown; daughters, Donna (Scottie) Goolsby, Gail (Jimmy) Bonds and Sherry (Bunny Turner) Brown; step-children, Chassity (Windle) Webster, Jr. and Jackie (Kathy) Posey; sister, Mildred Farmer; grandchildren, Jerry Spencer, Sarah Sweeney, Katelyn Reeves, Haleigh Webster, Bryson Webster, David Posey and Levi Posey; great-grandchildren, Nathan Spencer, Aiden Spencer, Emmalin Sweeney and Harleigh Spencer;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Tuesday, Aug. 27 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Rev. Danny Sellars officiating. Interment followed the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are: Slim Guinn and Bobby Ray Baucom. Visitation with the family was Monday, Aug. 26 and Tuesday, Aug. 27 from until time of services.
