Margaret Darlene Jones, 60, Mt. Juliet, died Friday, Aug. 2. 

Darlene was raised in the Woodbine area and was a graduate of Glencliff High School. She was a longtime employee of Service Merchandise, which created an opportunity for world-wide travel and was a creative jewelry designer for ViJay Jewelers. Darlene was an avid Vanderbilt Commodores fan. She enjoyed sports, antiquing and her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, a caring mother and a special friend to all.   

She is survived by: husband of 36 years, Clayton Gwen Jones; son, Christopher Gwyn (Christen) Jones; daughter, Celeste Michelle (Chris) Bowker, brothers, Michael Wayne (Lisa Barham) Conner and Frank Nabors; sister, Marsha (David) Odegard; grandchildren, Allison Bowker and Jaxon Jones; beloved bassett, Annie Boo.

Funeral services were Monday, Aug. 5, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Jason Lahorne officiating. Entombment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Christopher Jones, David Jones, Eric Jones, Brian Nabors, Austin Brown, Josh Clark and Shane Vivrette.

Dorothy MacMillen, 92, died Friday, Aug. 2. 

MacMillen was raised in Giles County and a graduate of The University of Tennessee. In 1970, her husband, Jim MacMillen developed the Oakmont subdivision in Mt. Juliet where she lived for many years. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church where she enjoyed her Sunday School class. The service, conducted by Fred Corley, was Sunday Aug. 4 at Wilson County Memorial Gardens in Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim MacMillen and survived by many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Bobby Turner, Tommy Turner, Dr. Dan Meadows, Browinie Meadows, Michael Stems and Jeremy Corley. Honorary Pallbearers were Dr. Lee Meadows, Joe meadows, Bob Turner, Keith Stems, Jim Bell and Dr. Mike Harris.

Beverly Ann Fowler, 65, Antioch, died Saturday, July 27.  

Fowler was retired from Bridgestone with 32 years of service. Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Fulton; husband, Floyd Fowler and brother, David Fulton. 

She is survived by: mother, Geneva Burns; children, Steve (Kelli) Harvey and Tiffany (Donnie) Wilson; step-daughters, Debbie Ferguson Jarrett and Cindy Dugger; brother, John Fulton; sister, Sharon Day; grandchildren, Taylor Harvey, Bethany Dugger, Alison Dugger, Eric Dugger, Jr. and Bailey Wilson.

Paul Bryan Garton, 87, Mt. Juliet, died Sunday, July 28.  

Garton was a member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII. He was retired from Sunbeam Bakery. Mr. Garton was the son of the late, Max LeRoy and Mary Christine Alsup Garton. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Lynn Keckler and sister, Jane Lee.

He is survived by: wife of 69 years, Edith Christine Garton; sons, Bryan (Pamela) Garton and Richard (Patti) Garton; daughters, Joyce (Mike) Swallows and Carolyn (Ricky) Gleaves; 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great-grandchildren and 4 Great-great Grandchildren.

Graveside services with military honors will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, at Woodlawn Memorial Park with Bro. David Shannon officiating.

Geneva I. Porter Mealhow, 77, Lebanon, passed away Friday, July 26. 

She is preceded in death by daughter, Kathy Lynn Harding, brother, Truman Porter and sister Tredy Berry. 

She is survived by: husband, Richard Mealhow; daughter, Brenda (Roger) Blair; grandson, Justin (Jaime) Harding; 2 step-children, Julie (Marty) Fish and Roger Mealhow; four step-grandchildren. 

Mealhow was a member of Beckwith Baptist Church and was retired from the State of Tennessee with 30 years of service. Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 29 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Tomlinson officiating. Interment followed at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with the family was Sunday and Monday.
