Mabel Lounett Hight Tayes, 88, Hermitage, was born Aug. 10, 1925 and entered into eternal rest Sept. 29. 

She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church for over 70 years. She was married July 31, 1943 to James Clarence Tayes.

Lounett was preceded in death by husband, James Clarence Tayes; parents, Grady and Rebecca Hight; sisters, Vallie Lohman and Carmene Eakes; and granddaughter, Becky Tayes. 

She is survived by: sons, Tony Tayes, Joey Tayes and Jeff (Angelia) Tayes; grandchildren, Steve Tayes, Scottie Tayes, Latisha (Blake) Hall and Annette (Buddy) Crunk; and great-grandchildren, Kain and Micah Hailey and Lyric Johnson.

Funeral services are Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. at PleasantGrove United Methodist Church with Bro. James Rowlett officiating. Interment will follow the service at Hermitage Memorial Gardens with Steve Tayes, Scottie Tayes, Blake Hall, Buddy Crunk, Bryan Baldwin, Steve Hagar, Ronny Skully and Zillon Felts serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are: Harold Anderson, Joe Low, Eugene Tayes, Jerry Tayes, Mike Tayes, John Carr, Mitchell Smith, Mike Richardson, Dave Foster, Jr., Johnny George and Elrick Daly. Visitation with the family was Tuesday, Oct. 1 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet and Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.

Paul Woodcock, 48, Mt. Juliet passed away Sept. 22. 

Woodcock was preceded in death by father, Herbert Woodcock and brother, Grant Woodcock. 

He is survived by: his wife, Stephanie Woodcock; sons, Dylan and Caleb Woodcock; mother, Beryl Barton and step-father, Jim Barton; and brother, Peter Woodcock. He will be missed “forever blowing bubbles.”

A memorial service was Monday, Sept. 30 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1004 Woodland Place, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122. Visitation with the family was at the church Sunday, Sept. 29 and Monday, Sept. 30 until time of services.

Virginia Darlene Hoffman, a Celebration of Life for Hoffman will be held at 1 pm, Sept. 18 with Pastor Howard Mettee officiating at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will consist of sons and grandsons. Visitation with the family will be two hours prior to the service.

Hoffman, 90, died Sept. 12. She was born Dec. 10, 1922 in New Port Richey, Fla. She graduated from Gulf High School with honors in 1940 then attended Eckerd College. She began working for peninsular Phone Company at age 17. Peninsular became General Telephone Company in 1957 and today is Verizon Wireless. She worked for these companies for 39 years before retiring then moving to Mt. Juliet. Virgie and Jerry became members of Celebration Lutheran Church when it started in a shoe store before it moved to its present location on North Mt. Juliet Road.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, Jerry Hoffman. Virginia was one of nine children born to Anthony and Anna Fraddosio of New Port Richey, Fla. She has five children, Alice Hoster and husband, Bob of Mt. Juliet, Gilbert Sumner (deceased) and wife, Diane of Mt. Juliet, tony Sumner of Fanning Springs, Fla., Wayne Sumner and wife, Cindy of Parrish, Fla. and Lee Sumner and wife, Sharon of Orlando, Fla. She has 14 grandchildren, 14.5 great-grandchildren and 22 nieces and nephews.

Mildred Johnson, 99, Hendersonville passed away Sept. 9. 

She is preceded in death by parents, John and Vallie Hargis; and husband, Herschel Johnson. 

She is survived by sons, James (Jimmie Sue) Johnson, Carl (Nancy) Johnson and Paul (Sharon) Johnson; grandchildren, Deborah (Berrel) Dugger, Randy (Tina) Johnson, Jeff (Kim) Watkins, Dawn Jordan, Diane (David) Baker, Sherri Downing, Carl (Dawn) Johnson, Jr., Missy Briney and Kim Clark; 17 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Thursday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Sellers Crain officiating. Interment followed the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation with the family was Wednesday, Sept. 11 and Thursday, Sept. 12 until time of service.

The family wishes to thank Mt. Juliet Healthcare nurses Terri, Brenda and Ashley.

After a lengthy illness, John went home to be with his lord on Sept. 4 at the age of 68.  

He was born on Jan. 14, 1945. He is predeceased by his parents, Katherine Hinnigar and John Herman Rolfes who resided in Cincinnati, Ohio. Also two sisters, Dorothy Fothergill and Loretta Cain.

He is survived by: his loving and devoted wife, Nancy Denise Rolfes of Dunlap and three sons:  John, Jr (Connie), Steven James (Laura), and  Christopher Mark (Brittany).  His  grandchildren are John Thomas Rolfes III, Thomas Ryan Parton, Steven James Rolfes, Abigail Rose Rolfes and Kylee Rolfes. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. John had two canine pals that he dearly loved and both Scruffy and MooMoo  will miss him terribly.

John served his country in the army during the Vietnam War  in 1965-66. He was employed by Consolidated Freightways, a trucking company for  38 years (he jokingly would say the T in his name stood for Trucking). He worked in various capacities but mostly as  Linehaul Manager or Assistant Manager which consisted of overseeing  the over-the-road truck drivers).  He worked in Cincinnati, Ohio and was sent to Nashville to set up the department and over see the transfer when the company moved most of their drivers to Nashville in February, 1983.  John worked closely with all the other departments of the company and helped train numerous supervisors.

The family received friends Friday and Saturday at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel

Funeral service were conducted Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Ron Crary officiating

Interment followed in Hamilton Memorial Gardens
