Linda Hurst Locke, 57, Hermitage, died April 8. 

Locke was a member of Hermitage United Methodist Church. Since graduating from Asbury University and Asbury Theological Seminary, Mrs. Locke served as youth director in Tifton, Georgia and Somerville, TN. She has served as Christian Education Director since 1998 at Hermitage United Methodist Church. Mrs. Locke was preceded in death by parents-in-law, Reeves and Mary Priscilla Locke.

She is survived by: husband of 23 years, Joseph Reeves Locke, Jr.; parents, Stanley A. and Camilla Hurst; sisters, Betty (Steve) Hurst and Nancy (Harold) Delaney; brothers-in-law, J. Parker (Lydia) Locke and Rev. Mark (Donna) Locke; sister-in-law, Priscilla (Rev. Mike) Daniels; nieces and nephews, Ben Delaney, Sarah Camp, Jesse Delaney, Rachel Lantz, Aaron Daniels, Rob Locke, Will Locke, Nathaniel Locke, Jonathan Locke and Alexis Daniels; several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services were Friday, April 11 at Hermitage United Methodist Church, 205 Belinda Drive, Hermitage, TN with Rev. Allen Black officiating and Saturday, April 12 at First United Methodist Somerville, 202 S. East Street, Somerville, TN with Rev. Michael Pilcher officiating. Interment followed at Somerville Cemetery. Active pallbearers wre Goochie King, John King, Ty Camp, JesseDelaney, Bill Walker and Walker Thornton. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Sands, Paul Henri, Brad Stephens, Joey Parker, David Cowan, Dylan Burk, W.A. Smith and Jim Turner.

In lieu of flowers, for those who choose, memorials may be made to Asbury University, 1 Macklem Drive, Wilmore, KY 40390 or Asbury Theological Seminary, 204 N. Lexington Avenue, Wilmore, KY 40390.  

Visitation was Thursday at Bond Memorial Chapel in Mt. Juliet, TN and prior to service time Saturday at First United Methodist Church Somerville, TN.

Christina West, 46, Hermitage, passed away April 11. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 18,  1 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, April 17 from 5-8 p.m and Friday, April 18 from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Survived by husband, Jeff West; parents, Ronald & Diane Lawrence; sister, Lea (John) Discher; children, Trevor Lornson, Korrie West, Amber Lornson and Alec Lornson.

Mable Clara Barker, 82, Nashville, died April 2. 

Barker was a member of Donelson Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and a local artist. Barker was the daughter of the late, James Rucker and Mable Claire Turner Chunn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Glenn Barker and four siblings.

She is survived by: children, Steven (Donna) Barker, Pamela (Gregory) Hall, Emily Barker and Glenn (Devonne) Barker: sister, Joyce Marie Davidson; grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew, Joshua, Taylor, Michael, David, Sloan, Shelby, Shea and Sheridan.

Funeral services were Sunday, April 6 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rucker Chunn officiating.

James J.W. Jones, 66, Mt. Juliet, passed away April 6. 

Jones was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Estelle Jones. 

He is survived by: wife of 39 years, Norma Jones; children, Kyle (Marti) Stacy, Josh (Rachael) Hall, DeeDee (Troy) Bright, James Burlison and Sierra Burlison; sisters, Elaine Burnett, Barbara (Herbert) Sanders and Ellen (Daryl) Moore; brothers, Dexter (Patti) Jones and Wesley (Melodie) Jones; and grandchildren, Lara Stacy, Alli Stacy, Bella Hall, Jonathan Stacy, Myla Alsup and Sophie Hall.

Jeffrey Majors, 48, passed away April 2, at UMC.

Survivors include: wife, Demetria Majors; children, Jeffrey T., and Douglas J. Majors; father, Eugene (Ivy) Majors; grandfather, Wilson Cockrill; sister, Paula (Rubin) Collick; brothers, Larry (Vivian) Word, Kerry and Harry Majors; mother-in-law, Betty Douglas; three grandchildren; a myriad of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Majors was open for public viewing Monday April 7 at J.C. Hellum Funeral Chapel. Tuesday he was  lie-in-state, family visitation with funeral  following at Victory Baptist Church, 1777 Tate Lane, Mt. Juliet, TN, Pastor Anthony Dobson, eulogist. Interment Mt. Ararat Cemetery.
