Funeral services for Ret. Mst. Sgt. Claude Wilson Williams will be 1 p.m. Friday, July 25, at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Miller officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation was Thursday and Friday at Ligon & Bobo.

Williams, 90, Mt. Juliet, passed away Tuesday, July 22 at Quality Care.

Born Aug. 9, 1923, in Wilson County, he is the son of the late Lonnie Wilson Williams and Bessie Lillian Ellis Williams. He was a Baptist and was a Master Mason with Mount Juliet Lodge No. 642 F&AM. He had twenty five years’ service in the Navy and Air Force, serving during World War II, and worked at AVCO for eighteen years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by beloved son, Larry W. Williams; brothers, James and Harold Williams; and a sister, Patty Brown.

He is survived by: wife of nearly 70 years, Mary Elizabeth Warren Williams; two children, Sandra J. Williams of Hermitage; and Garry W. (Lynn) Williams of Tuckers Cross Roads; special daughter in law, Lisa Williams of Hendersonville; six grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren.

Marianne Kay Wise,  66, Mt. Juliet, died July 27. 

Wise was a member of Providence United Methodist Church. She retired as a Registered Nurse after 46 years of service. She spent 27 of those years at Summit Medical Center as the Charge Nurse in the Same Day Surgery Unit. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. Wise was preceded in death by her step-father, Harold Eugene Jarvis

She is survived by: husband of almost 46 years, Allan Wise; mother, Mary Jarvis; daughters, Sheri Wise (Steve) Young and Rebecca (Art) Wise-Eklund; step-brother, John (Patty) Jarvis; grandchildren, Cooper, Claire, Gavin, Zachary, Jackson and Cole.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jacob Armstrong officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Providence United Methodist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 517, Mt. Juliet, TN 37121.

Georgia Janice Hammond, 75, Lebanon, died July 15. 

Hammond was a member of Cloyd’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She was formerly employed as a receptionist at World Testing and the Women’s Health Center. Hammond was the daughter of the late, Dillard Lollar, Jr. and Ottie Maynard Lollar but she was raised by her late grandparents, Van and Secie Maynard.

She is survived by: husband of 17 years, Leon Hammond; daughters, Karen Bates (Troy) Clairday of Mt. Juliet and Jennifer Bates (Joe) Pearson of Owensboro, Ky.; step-children, Tim (Jan) Hammond, Chris (Sonya) Hammond and Bonita (Larry) Watson; brother, David (Carolyn) Swindle, Jr. of Leesburg, Va.; sister, Linda (Bill) Ryder of Kingston Springs; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Clairday (Andrew) Coleman, Ashley Lauren Pearson, Lyndsey Erin Clairday, Bryan Watson, Chad Watson, Chelsea Hammond and Max Hammond; great-grandchildren, Sophie Watson and Kybree Denny. Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Friday, July 18 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Reese officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers were Troy Clairday, Joe Pearson, Tim Hammond, Chris Hammond, Larry Watson and Andrew Coleman. Honorary pallbearers will be the CPW at Clody’s Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Mary Annette McDaniel, 71, Mt. Juliet passed away July 17. 

McDaniel graduated from Mt. Juliet High School in 1961. She worked for Moss’ Florist in Mt. Juliet the last 17 years before retiring. Her main interests were her family, home, flowers and plants. She loved to plant and nurture her flower gardens. She also loved her animals. She was a very special person and loved everyone. She always tried to guide people to do what was right. She was a Christian and believed in the afterlife. The church of Christ was her life. She prayed daily for a better and peaceful world. She was truly a special wife, friend, and mother. We will miss her. She will always be in our hearts. She suffered greatly with this dreadful disease and her pain is finally over. This is a sad time in our household, but knowing her pain is finally over is somewhat comforting. God bless her.

McDaniel was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Lena Lane. She is survived by: husband of 52 years, Robert R. McDaniel; daughter, Vickie Renee (Eddy) Willette; son, Jason Reid McDaniel; grandchildren, Tyler McDaniel, Ty Willette, Serenity Willette, and Alyssa Willette; sister, Betty Kathryn (Oco) Hamblen; and numerous other relatives.

Funeral services were Sunday, July 20 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family was Saturday, July 19  and Sunday, July 20 until time of service.

Robert L. Cook, 72, Mt. Juliet, died July 10. 

Cook was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Donelson High School and was retired from the State of Tennessee. Cook was an avid fisherman. He was the son of the late, John H. and Helen Worsley Cook.

He is survived by: brother, Charles (Sharon) Cook; nieces, Sheila (Mark) Patton and Sherry (Marcus) Lockett; great-niece, Jada Lockett; numerous cousins and friends.

Funeral services were Monday, July 14, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Don Dillingham officiating. Interment followed at Binkley-Steele-Hagar Cemetery. Friends served as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Donelson High School Class of 1961 Breakfast Club.
