Wanda Boyd Newbold, 75, originally from Madison, was born on Dec. 16, 1937 and died Thursday, July 18.  

She was the daughter of the late, Joel S. Boyd and Annie L. Collins Boyd. Also preceded in death by her husband, James William Newbold, is now reunited with him in heaven forevermore.  Married on June 29, 1963 on the eastern shore of Maryland, their marriage was a rare, devoted love. Mrs. Newbold, graduated from George Peabody College for Teachers, where she went on to teach Home Economics in the Charles County Md. school system. She later resided in Mt. Juliet. For 30 years as a talented and influential school teacher, she influenced the lives of so many students, parents and friends alike. She will be remembered by those who know her best as a loving and loyal wife; caring and steadfast mother; an educator and friend of many. Words are so inadequate to describe the beautiful person she was. Her devotion, intelligence and generosity will be missed by so many. 

She is survived by: daughters, Diana (Mark) Shellenberger of Allentown, Penn. and Kathleen Newbold of Old Hickory; sisters, JoAnne Boyd Slate and Carole Boyd Hulan; grandchildren, Jacob and Adam Shellenberger; Devon Newbold. 

A Memorial Service was conducted Monday, July 22 at Bond Memorial Chapel with brother David Usry officiating.

George Elmer Druyor, 83, Mt. Juliet, born on Oct. 4, 1929 and died Thursday, July 11.  

He was the son of the late, Keith Druyor and Marie Christiansen. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Neal, Robert, and Glen Druyor; and sisters Mae Petersen, Jean Brown, and Mary Lou Ambrozy. George was known and loved for his love of nature, sense of humor, and profound reverence for God and country. This tough, old brick layer could write poetry that would make you laugh out loud, and then tug on your heart strings. What looked like someone’s old junk, would be transformed by dad into work of his own unique art. 

He is survived by: wife, Eleanor Druyor; son, Cameron (Peggy) Druyor of Mt. Juliet; daughter, Laurie (Kent) Krynock  of Fremont, OH; sister, Jessie Jarvella; grandchildren, Daniel, Joshua, Caitlin, Cameron Jr. and Jonathan; two great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews

The Family invites their extended family and friends to a Celebration of George’s life on Saturday, July 27 at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s UCC in Oak Harbor, OH.

Brenda Jane Helton, 67, Mt. Juliet, died Friday, July 12.  

She was the daughter of the late, Lloyd Sidney Woods and Janie Elizabeth Terry Woods. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Andrew Black.

She is survived by:husband, Doug Helton; sons, Daren Helton and Kevin Helton, of Ridgetop; daughter, Tammy D. Horne and fiancé Ronald Lee Sigmon of Hickory, N.C.; grandchildren, Aaron M. Horne and fiancé Kayla J. Hall, Emma G. Helton, and Taylor Paige Helton; great-grandchild, Jack A. Horne.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, July 15 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Brother August Ruff and Ken Head officiating. Interment followed at Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lance Vail, Jeff Brown, Wayne Upchurch, Mike Lewis, Marty Marshall, Kevin Helton and Daren Helton.

Melvin Arthur Lundie, Mt. Juliet, TN, died Monday, July 8. 

Lundie was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Community. He was an accountant with Everbrite, Inc. for 20 years and a tax preparer with H&R Block in Milwaukee, WI and TN for 23 years. Mel was also a musician and had band affiliations with The Montelles, Johnny and the Hurricanes, The Exceptions, The Sevilles, The Mid-Knighters, Everyday People and the Tom Sorce Band. In the 1980’s the Lundie’s hosted 3 American Field Service Students from Germany, Iceland and Australia. Mr. Lundie was the son of the late, Casmir and Adeline Klein Lewandowski.  

He is survived by: wife of 36 years, Louise Lundie; daughter, Ann Mathews; brother, Charles (Judy) Lewandowski; sister, Mary Ann (Kenneth) Miller; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, at Saint Stephen Catholic Church, 1411 W. Oakwood Road, Oak Creek, WI with Father Dennis Wieland officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Sorce, Lenny Szwiec, Bill Hakow, Barry Blaskowski, John Verbraken, Tom Kopecky, Duane Brzozowski, Leroy Lewandowski, and Kenny Miller, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the AFS Foundation of Greater Milwaukee or the American Heart Association.

Sammy Lee Richards, 68, Nashville passed away July 11. Richards was preceded in death by father, Rich P. Richards; mother, Nancy Louise Richards; brothers, Leroy Richards and Lelon Richards; and sister, Mary Nell “Pop” Tobitt. He is survived by: son, Sammy Richards; daughter, Jayce Page; brothers, James Richards and Ronnie Richards; sisters, Georgia Smith, Judy Smith, Freida Manning and Joanne Clinard; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were Saturday, July 13 at Sellars Funeral Home-Mt. Juliet with Rev. Danny Sellars officiating. Interment followed the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Carl Tinch, Bobby Smith, James Smith, Scott Tobitt, Jere Lee Clinard, Ronnie Richards, Jr., Jake Carter, Lando Carter, and Richie Richards serving as pallbearers.
