Weston, Sr., Freddie M., 79, Mt. Juliet, died Jan. 20. 

Weston was retired from the Bell South System/AT&T. He was a lifelong farmer and a charter member of the Mt. Juliet Lions Club. Weston was a local politician serving from 2002 to present as a Wilson County Commissioner. He served as a Mt. Juliet City Commissioner from 1985-1997. He was currently serving on the Cable TV Committee, Minutes Committee, Stearing Committee and the Public Works Committee. He had previously served on the Rules Committee and the Back Taxes Committee. Weston was the son of the late, Thomas Ernest and Nell Osment Weston. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Tom E. Weston, Charles M. Weston, Margaret W. Brown, Mary W. Johnston and Eddie Nell Greeson.

He is survived by: wife of 62 years, Betty N. Weston, sons, Freddie M. (Trudie) Weston, Jr. and Ricky (Randi) Weston, daughters, Beverly (Billy) Young and Lynn W. (Charlie) Cooperider; grandchildren, Kenny (Amanda) Dunnavant, Brooke W. (Jonathan) Hines, Brett (Morgan) Terry, Ian Terry, Wesley Dunnavant, Ben Dunnavant, Ethan (Jessica) Weston, Billy Young, III, Bobby (Julie) Young, Kelli (Andy) Lacy, Tyler (Christina) Cooperider and Kayla Cooperider; great-grandchildren, Weston Hines, Pressley Hines, Wyatt Terry,  Jacob Dunnavant, Savannah Dunnavant, Lilly Cooperider, Brayden Lacy and Lucas Lacy; several nieces and nephews and is 4-legged pal, Cummins.

Funeral services were Friday, Jan. 24, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Alan Herd officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers were grandsons.

Michael Tod Christian, 44, Nashville, passed away peacefully during the early morning hours of Jan. 15. From an early age Tod enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, music, vintage cars and cans. He was strong and courageous, a loving and generous soul who shouldered his burdens with dignity. He will be dearly missed. 

He is survived by: mother, Barbara Christian of Nashville; father, Michael (Nancy) Christian of Johnson City; sister, Kimble (Matt) Johnson of Memphis; niece, Madelynn Johnson of Memphis; many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A private service prior to cremation was held Friday, Jan. 17, at Bond Memorial Chapel. There will be an interment and committal service at the Grace Chapel Cemetery in Beersheba Springs in the near future. Those arrangements are incomplete at this time.

Beth Anderson Pepper, 57, passed away on Jan. 8, at her home in Mt. Juliet. 

She is survived by: her husband John and her brothers Jim, David and wife Jeanette and Cragin and wife Kaye. Beth preceded in death by her brother John and her parents, James and Louise Anderson.

Beth was born in Jacksonville, Fl. on March 26, 1956. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1975. Beth was a sweet, caring person who will be missed deeply by her husband, his family and her brothers and their families.

A service will be held on Feb.1 at 4 p.m. at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 3049 Pleasant Hill Church Rd.,  Orlinda, TN 37141.

Ollie Belle Hipps Vaughan, 95, Brentwood, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children Monday, Jan. 13 at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin. 

Vaughan was born in Greene County on June 25, 1918 to the late, Grover Steven and Emmaline Coates Hipps. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James Ivan Vaughan, Sr. and her siblings, Raymond Hipps, twin sister May Belle Hipps McCarty, Harley Hipps, Clyde Hipps, Robert Hipps, Dwight Hipps, Bryant Hipps, Mark Hipps, Luke Hipps and Paul Hipps. 

She is survived by: children, Jane Vaughan Leake of Birmingham, Ala., Gwendolyn Vaughan(Howard) Shaw of Mt. Juliet, and James I. Vaughan, Jr. of Nashville; grandchildren, Ward Shaw, Jim (Carrie) Vaughan and Catherine Shaw (Adam) Mangrum; great-grandchildren, Connor and Tyler Shaw, Jimmy, Lexi, Elijah, Levi and Miriam Vaughan and Mary Brent Mangrum; sister, Hannah Ruth Hipps Arrington; sisters-in-law, Lois Hipps, Velva Hipps, Millie Hipps and Joyce Hipps and many cherished nieces and nephews

Cynthia Lynn Hoffman Custer passed away Dec. 23.
Cynthia graduated from Mt. Juliet High School in 1979.
She is survived by one daughter, Miranda Jackson; mother, Mary Goodman; sister, Cheryl Hoffman; granddaughters, Noel Jackson and Courtney Jackson; son in law, Chris Jackson; and niece, Luana Nicole McGowan, and a host of aunts and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Mt. Juliet at 2 p.m. Jan. 25 with Pastor David Fallin officiating.
