Gaylon Lohman, 74 passed away Wednesday May 22 at his residence.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Frances Spickard Lohman; brothers, Louis(Vallie) Lohman & Hugh Lohman. 

He is survived by: wife of 47 years, Clydene Lohman; brother, Jack (Linda) Lohman; sisters-in-law, Jane Lohman and Elaine (Jamie) Hall; nieces and nephews, Faye (Harold) Anderson, Lisa (Joe) Low, Lana Christian, LuJack (Kitty) Lohman, Casey Lohman, Erika (Jeremey) Snider; great niece and nephew, Hayley and Mason Snider; numerous great nieces and nephews. 

Lohman was an Army veteran, member of the Methodist faith, and retired supervisor with DuPont. 

Visitation was Friday May 24 and Saturday May 25 until funeral services in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Bro. Buddy Neal officiated the services. Interment, Cedar Grove Cemetery. Active pallbearers, Chris King, LuJack Lohman, Joe Low, Jeremey Snider, Casey Lohman, Allen Yelton, Tommy Jones, Charles Ricketts, and Mason Snider. John W. Shelton, 74, Mt. Juliet passed away May 22.

Shelton was a SCAN volunteer for 12 years. 

Shelton was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Shelton. 

He is survived by: wife, Martha Alexander Shelton; step-children, Glenda (Wayne) Weaver, Beverly (Larry) Casey, Elaine (Rick) James and Jimmy (Patricia) Hollis; brother-in-law, George Alexander; and step-grandchildren, Stacey and Christy Hollis. 

The family would like to thank Mt. Juliet Health Care and Quality Health Care.

Funeral services were Saturday, May 25 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Danny Sellars and Rev. Fred Vantrease officiating. Interment followed the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family was Thursday, May 23, Friday, May 24 prior to the service on Saturday.

Wilburn Allen Withers, 87, Hermitage, passed from this life to eternal life Sunday May 26, at Summit Medical Center. 

Allen was born Jan. 20, 1926 in Wilson County. He was the son of the late Jacob and Mary Hurt Withers. He served in the 38th Cavalry under General George Patton’s Third Army. He participated in three major battles. After his service in the military, he returned home to build a life with his sweetheart, Louise Jackson. He then faithfully worked for both the Swift Company and Oscar Mayer, retiring after 43 years. A man of great faith, he played the organ, lead singing, taught Sunday School and was a deacon at Hermitage First Baptist Church, where he was a charter member. In later years, he was active in Franklin Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rollie, James, Johnnie and Martin Withers; sisters, Sally Withers and Estelle Rector and grandson, Matthew Withers.

He is survived by: cherished wife of 65 years, Louise Withers; son, James Allen Withers; beloved daughter-in-law, Paula Withers; sister, Margaret Gregg.

A Life Celebration Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Allen Withers officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Cowgill Community Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be William Withers, Harold Withers, Ronnie Withers, Sam Crimi, Dennis Dukes, Jason Marlin, Danny Myers and Dr. Barry Stuman. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James Elrod, Dr. Tod Bushman, Dr. John Coursey, Virgil Darnell and Gary Jackson.

Billy Joe Agee, 80, Lebanon, died Monday, May 20.
He was the son of the late, Wiley and Etta Everett Agee. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ann Harris Agee; son, Mike Agee and brothers, Otis and Howard Agee.
He is survived by: son, Terry (Bonnie) Agee; brother, Rayburn Agee; sisters, Peggy Hudson and Doris Hudson; grandchildren, Kisha (Curt) Gallagher, Priscilla (John) McVoy, Melissa (Rick) Johnson, Kendall (Lee) Watson, Shane Agee,  Kenneth Agee and Jennifer Agee-Johnson; Several Great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23 at Wilson County Memorial Gardens.

Rev. James Hogun, 87, Murfreesboro passed away May 8. 

Rev. Hogun was in the ministry for over 60 years and was the only Protestant minister to speak at the Monks’ Monastery in Carmel Valley. He was a member of the Ministerial Alliance Association. He was a Master Gardener and enjoyed fishing.

Funeral services were Tuesday, May 14 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Steve Williams officiating. Interment followed the service at Roselawn Cemetery, Murfreesboro with Phillip Morrow, Daniel Miller, Paul McFarland, Tom Manners, Jason Rowsell and Justin Wyatt serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family was Monday, May 13 and Tuesday, May 14 from until time of service.

Rev. Hogun was preceded in death by parents, James and Synthia Hogun; and son, Michael Earl Hogun. He is survived by wife of 61 years, Barbara “B. J.” Hogun; daughter, Cathie Cantrell (Thomas) Manners; grandchildren, Stephanie (Daniel) Miller and Michael Cantrell; great-grandchildren, Nicole Miller, Kaleigh Miller, and Mackenzie Grace Cantrell; 1 brother; 3 sisters; foster son, Chris Rutledge; numerous foster children; and several nieces and nephews.
