Norma Katheryne Gipson Rose, 79, Mt. Juliet, died Thursday, May 2. 

Rose was a member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ and a graduate of Hume Fogg High School. She was the daughter of the late, James Howard and Nettie Sue Hodge Gipson.

She is survived by: children, Suzette (Gerald) Harris, Robin Rose Maxwell, Anthony Rose, Tim Rose and Tracey (Steven) Hunter; grandchildren, Gerald E. Harris, Jr., Whitney Elizabeth Whittington, Daniel Maxwell, Samantha Rose, Andie Rose, Blake Hunter and Haylee Hunter; great-grandchildren, Savana Elizabeth Whittington, Jaxson Shipley and Skye Hunter

Funeral services were Monday, May 6, at Bond Memorial Chapel with David Shannon officiating. Interment followed at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family and friends served as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Elders and Deacons of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ.

She is preceded in death by: husbands, Tommie Summers, Sr., Will Burch Atkinson; son Tommie Summers, Jr.

She is survived by: children, Wanda (Ronny) Williams, Cheryl (Bill) Ligon, Charlene Ros, Larry (Vicki) Summers, Darlene (Donnie) Ondecker; step daughter, Carole (James) Wood; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 4 step children. Funeral services were Saturday, May 4 with Bro. Norman Slate officiating. Visitation was Friday, May 3 and prior to the service at Hermitage Funeral Home, (615)889-0361

Luis Vega, 45, passed away at his residence in Old Hickory April 30.  

Funeral Services were Saturday, May 4 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Visitation was Friday, May 3 at the Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet.  Interment in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens followed the service.  Sons and friends will serve as Pallbearers.  Honorary Pallbearers:  Manuel Vega and Alfonso Guevara.  The family extends a special thank you to brother Glenn Scott.  

Vega is survived by wife Maricela Vega and four children Adoni, Joseph, Samantha, and Nathaly.

Charles Henry Worthington, Jr., 46, Mt. Juliet, died Wednesday, May 1. 

Chuck was an avid fan of the George Bulldogs, the Atlanta Braves and the Dallas Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ashley Meers and his grandmother, Sara Barnett. 

He is survived by: wife, Cydnee Cook Worthington; mother, Carole Barnett; father, Charles Worthington, Sr.; daughters, VictoriaElizabeth Worthington, Katelyn Marie Fuqua and Patricia Faye Johnson; sons, Joseph Paul Johnson and Johnathan Mosier Johnson; brothers, Patrick (Amanda) Meers and Chasen Worthington; sisters, Mitzi Meers Keys, Amy LeBouef and Cynthia Friday; nieces and nephews, Sarah Meers, Riley Meers and Kathryn Keys; thee grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, May 4 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Carmen Gaud officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Patrick Meers, Chip Malone, Bubba Maxwell, Grady Wilson, Jason McClure and Riley Meers.

Thomas Evans Morris, 89, Mt. Juliet, died Wednesday, April 24. 

Morris was raised in the Lutheran Orphans’ Home in Oregon, Ohio and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He and his wife owned Morris’ Red and White Store in Alvordton, Ohio. Mr. Morris was employed by General Mill from 1954 until his retirement in 1984. He was preceded in death by his children, Karen Swan and Jon Morris.

He is survived by: wife of 66 years – Ethel Meyer Morris; daughters, Sharon (Ray) Morris and Debra (Keith) Gray; grandchildren, Tom Sheperd, Todd Shupp, Josh Goodrich and Von Doran; great-grandchildren, Brock, Tara, Cody, Trevor, Valerie, Alyssa, Malayna, Denver and Alice

Funeral services were Monday, April 29 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rob Simms officiating.
