William Edward Poole,  90, Mt. Juliet, joined our Lord Thursday, March 21. 

Poole was born in Potts Camp, Miss June 7, 1922. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1941 and served four years in the European Theater as a Master Sgt. and Crew Chief on B-24 Bombers. Mr. Poole was awarded a Bronze Star for his courageous service. Upon his return in 1945, he served four more years as a Chief Petty Officer in the Naval Reserve. In civilian life, Poole worked for National Airways and Universal Tire Company before joining Ford Motor Company in 1964. He served 33 years with Ford Tractor Ops as the marketing and sales manager in Virginia and New York. Mr. Poole retired in 1984 and began his love affair with golf where he had 8 hole-in-one. Mr. Poole was a devout Christian and member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet. He was a devoted husband and family man.

He is survived by: wife of 67 years, Carolyn Poole; daughter, Lynda (Ron) Salyer; sons, Mitch (Tina) Poole and Mike (Stacey) Poole; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren 

Funeral services were Monday, March 25 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Andy Hale officiating. Interment with military honors was Tuesday, March 26, at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Mike Poole, Ron Salyer, Jamie Salyer, Todd Salyer, Len Poole and Ethan Goodwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Moore, Ken “Lumpy” Sullinger and Fred Mays.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the charity of your choice.

Clare Lucille Blevins Rector, 76, Mt. Juliet, died Sunday, March 17. 

Rector was a member of Our Father’s House Community Church. She was a pianist and an organist for three different churches in the past 45 years and organized the “Melody Makers” singing group for the Mt. Juliet Senior Citizens Center. Mrs. Rector worked for the Department of the Navy and the Department of the Air Force at the Pentagon and the Department of the Marine Corp at Camp Lejeune. She later earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from UTN and worked at several area hospitals including Vanderbilt Medical Center. Mrs. Rector was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 35 years and served as Grand Organist in 2000. She is the daughter of the late, William Arthur and Edna Mae Thomas Blevins. She was also preceded in death by six siblings.

She is survived by: husband of 53 years, Ben Rector; children, Edwin B. (Diane) Rector of Nashville, Deborah L. (Steve) Phelps of Mt. Myers, Fla., Leilani Rector of Nashville and Samuel Paul (Alexis Rau) Rector of Mt. Juliet; sister, Barbara Joyce Vicente of Biloxi, Miss.; grandson, Benjamin Rector-Rau.

Mrs. Rector has also served as a Foster Mother to over 50 children.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 21 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jim Rowlett  officiating. A Private interment will be held at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. 

Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Our Father’s House Community Church.

Felicia Vickers, 21, Old Hickory passed away March 15. 

She is preceded in death by grandfathers, Larry Jones and Herbert Vickers, Sr. 

She is survived by: parents, Herbert Vickers, Jr. and Lisa Devine; brothers, Zachery Vickers, Christopher Vickers and Casey Vickers; sister, Haylie Devine; step-brother, Luke Devine; son, Jackson Fonseca; and grandmothers, Gloria Jones and Bobbie Vickers.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 21 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Greg Locke officiating. Interment will follow the services at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Zachery Vickers, Christopher Vickers, Casey Vickers, Michael Campbell, Lupe Fonseca and Joey Jones serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family was Wednesday, March 20 and Thursday, March 21.

Martha B. Withrow, 76 Marion, Ky., formerly of Mt. Juliet, died at 4 p.m. Monday, March 18 at Crittenden Co. Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marion. 

She was a 49 year member of the Eastern Star Harvey Freeman Chapter No. 181 in Mt. Juliet, and was an Avon representative for over 30 years. 

She was preceded in death by her husband John Thomas Withrow in 2009 and one sister Helen Joyce Lewis. Her parents were Percy and Mary Pauline Jenkins Bates. 

Survivors include two sons Kent Withrow and wife Mindy of Marion, Ky., Kevin Withrow and wife Sharon of Watertown, one daughter Karen Gregory and husband James of Marion, Ky., three grandchildren Kayle Harralson, Kerstie Gregory, Kyler Withrow, one brother Phillip Bates of Mt. Juliet, and one sister Margie Andrew of Milton, Fla..

Funeral services were Thursday, March 21 at Dunn’s Funeral Home in Eddyville with Rev. Gladys Tyler officiating and burial will follow in Rolling Hills Cemetery.

Randell Houston Farrell, 78, Mt. Juliet, died Tuesday, March 12. 

Farrell was a member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ. He was the son of the late, Charles Elvis Farrell, Sr. and Robbie Leah Adams Farrell. Mr. Farrell was also preceded in death by his sister, Oleta Whaley.

He is survived by: wife of 53 years, Gloria Farrell; children, Randy (Carol) Farrell, Ray (Maria) Farrell, Jimbo (Teri) Farrell and Lisa Tolman; brother, Charles Elvis Farrell, Jr.; sister, Margaurette Fein; grandchildren, Candy, Lance, Kris, Kristi, Heather, Chris, Shelby and Parker; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Olivia, Tyler, Carleigh, Lacy and Julia.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 14 at Bond Memorial Chapel with David Shannon officiating. Interment followed at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
