Margaret Mary Mackie (nee Rowan), Hermitage, passed away  March 27.  

Margaret was born Oct. 19, 1940, in Killybegs, County Donegal, Ireland. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 22 years, Peter Mackie; parents, Denis and Rose Rowan; and sister-in-law Patsy Rowan.  

She is survived by: her brothers, Pat Rowan, Donal (Bridie) Rowan, and Tom (Rose) Rowan; sisters, Rose (Chris) Palko and Alice (Ivan) Neal; son, Joel (Gail) Mackie; dear friend, Vera Smith, who was like a daughter; many nieces, nephews and Godchildren; and a wonderfully supportive caring circle of friends and neighbors.

Raised in the beautiful seaport of Killybegs, she always held tightly to her Irish heritage and retained her wonderful Irish brogue, even after becoming an American citizen.  Margaret came to the US in July of 1961 and remained here for the rest of her years, but always relished the occasional trip “home.”  She faced every challenge armed with her faith and determination to persevere. 

Funeral Mass was Tuesday, April 1 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 194 Graylynn Drive, Nashville. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family was Monday, March 31 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church and prior to the Mass Tuesday, April 1.

Evelyn A. Moore, 88, Richmond Hill, Ga, and formerly of Mt. Juliet, died March 26. 

Moore was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet. She was the daughter of the late, Clarence E. and Gladys Spann Seibert. Mrs. Moore was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Moore

She is survived by: sons, Chuck Moore and Rick (Gayla) Moore; sister, Betty Binkley; grandchildren, Nathan (Katricia) Binkley and Jennifer (Josh) Woodley; great-grandchildren, Catherine and Ian Moore and Jackson and Addison Woodley.

Funeral services were Saturday, March 29 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Billie Friel officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

WITT, Ruth Viola

Ruth Viola Witt, Mt. Juliet, 75. O Ruth, Thy good and faithful servant of Our Lord Jesus. You have journeyed home to God’s everlasting glory and grace, sitting and worshipping at the feet of Your Redeemer, under His eternal protection. You wear the garments of salvation and praise, in the presence of His Radiance forever. 

Ruth leaves, for a time, her husband Don, daughter Karen (Richard) Morton, son Mark (Eve) Witt and three grandchildren. To her family she was more precious than rubies. Her life was devoted to serving Christ. She requested anyone reading about her be directed to Jesus and accept Him as their Lord and Savior. 

A memorial celebration will be Saturday, March 29 at 2:30 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church, Mt. Juliet. Kindly offer remembrances to the Victory Baptist Building Fund or Alive/Hospice.

Linda Susan Coffey, 64, Old Hickory, died March 8. 

Coffey served thirty years in the U.S. Air Force, state side and abroad, and retired with the rank of Colonel. She was also an employee of Vanderbilt University Medical Center for 13 years as a clinical nurse in women’s health and postpartem care. Coffey was preceded in death by her father, Frank Jackson Coffey and her sister, Pamela Gaye Coffey.

She is survived by: mother, Johnnye Sue Coffey; brothers, William Paul Coffey and Frank Jackson Coffey, Jr.; nieces, Jacquline, Gabrielle and Danielle Coffey; nephew, Robert Jackson Coffey.

Funeral services were Thursday, March 13, at Bond Memorial Chapel with William Wiley officiating.

Eileen Ferrell Green,  90, Mt. Juliet, died March 10. 

Green was a member of Cooks United Methodist Church for over 50 years and Harvey Freeman Chapter No. 181 Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. She was employed as a bookkeeper for several businesses for many years.

Green was the daughter of the late, Charles and Margueritte Niaina Ferrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Ralph Walden Green, Jr. 

She is survived by: son, Darrell Green; daughter, Jean (Bob) Coats; grandchildren, Amber Green, Lucas Green and Casey Bradshaw Adams; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Saturday, March 15, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lee Stevenson and Bishop Robert Spain officiating. Interment followed at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
