Ronnie G. Whitley, 62,  Mt. Juliet, died Tuesday, Nov. 27. 

Whitley was a member of Cornerstone Church and had served in the Tennessee National Guard. Whitley was the son of the late, Larence H. and Goldie DeLong Whitley. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Sherry N. Whitley and Carol Whitley Young.

Hazel Baker Jobe, 85, Lebanon, and formerly of Lake City, died Tuesday, Nov. 20. 

Jobe was a longtime member of Buckhorn Presbyterian Church, Buckhorn, KY. She was the daughter of the late, Farmer Deaton and Lula Brown Baker. Jobe was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Jobe and sisters, Dorothy Pierce and Ruby Fugate. 

She is survived by: daughter, Susan (Paul) Gunn; sister, Anna Baker Duff; grandchildren, Elaine Gunn, Aaron Gunn and Matt Gunn; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Nov. 24 at Bond Memorial Chapel with David Fallin officiating. Interment was Sunday, Nov. 25, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park, Oak Ridge, TN.

Barbara R. Odom, 55, passed away Nov. 25 peacefully at her home. 

Odom loved life and always knew how to have a good time. Her smile, laugh and personality were infectious. She was loved by all who knew her and will be deeply missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Loy and Eldray Arnold; sisters, Rhonda Muye and Elizabeth Rice; brother Charlie Grimes. 

She is survived by her husband, Joey Odom; sons, Jason Lawrence (Kelly), Joshua Odom and Justin Odom. 

A memorial service and burial will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Wilson County Funeral Home. Family visitation will beheld Thursday from 3 to 4 p.m. proceeded by public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Wilson County Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in Barbara’s memory to the American Lung Association. www.lung.org/donate.

William E. Smoot, Jr. 67, Nashville, died Sunday, Nov. 25. 

Smoot was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during Vietnam. He retired from Bell South after 38 years of service. Smoot was the son of the late, William E. Smoot, Sr. and Dixie Seal Smoot. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Terry Smoot. 

He is survived by: son, Robbie (Jennifer) Smoot; daughter, Cindy (John) Myers; step-son, Tommy (Lisa) Fuller; brother, Joe (Jenny) Smoot; grandchildren, William, Riley, Hannah, Hailey, Destiny and Lee.

Funeral services will be conducted 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Greg Moser officiating. Interment with military honors will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery.

Katherine Monette Davis, 91, Mt. Juliet, died Monday, Nov. 19. 

Davis was a member of the Mt. Juliet Senior Citizen Center. She was the daughter of the late, Chester and Bessie Williams Roberts. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Davis and her brothers, Howard Roberts, Ray Roberts and Dale Roberts.
