Mrs. Euvonda Elaine Myers, 64, Mt. Juliet, died Thursday, July 19 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. 

She was born Sept. 21, 1947, in McMinnville, was a retired owner of Myers Communication and Verizion Wireless Retailer, and a member of Mt. Juliet First Baptist Church. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by father Alva Robie Boren and a son Greg Myers.

Survivors include: husband, Bill Myers, Mt. Juliet; mother Ila Vae Boren, McMinnville; son, Jason and Kirsten Myers, Brentwood’ daughter, Stephanie and Jason Parson, Mt. Juliet; grandchildren, Christopher, Gage, McKenna Myers, Eston and Emma Parson; and brothers, Ivin Norris Boren, Irving, Texas, and Max Elton and Marsha Boren, Spring Hill.

Funeral service was Sunday, July 22, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Harold Hunter officiated. Interment followed at Gardens of Memory. The Myers Family received friends Saturday and Sunday at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.

Fred Ellis Wright, 96, Mt. Juliet, died Thursday, July 19. 

Wright was a lifetime member of Laguardo Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII and retired in 1981 as Chief Administrator of Loan Services for the Veterans Administration. Mr. Wright was the son of the late, Joseph Fred and Maggie Eagan Wright. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Margaret Jones Wright; his brother, Lt. Joe Wright and his sister, Mary Alice Wright.

He is survived by: son, James “Jim” (Valerie) Wright; daughters, Suzanne (Ken) Brown and Linda Bruce; brothers, Raymond Wright and Glen (Jeanne) Wright; grandchildren, Dwayne Wright, Ange Cave, Chris Wright, Jonny Bruce, Mike Bruce, Andy Brown, James Simpson, Matthew Bruce, Joseph Bruce and Jake Brown; eight great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 22 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chuck Groover officiating. Interment with military honors followed at Hollis-Wright Cemetery. Grandsons served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Harris, Tony Weitlauf and Marie Parrish.

Flowers accepted or, memorials may be made to the Laguardo Baptist Church Building Fund.

Kenneth Wayne Burlison, 45, Mt. Juliet, died Tuesday, July 10. 

Burlison was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet. He was a graduate of DuPont High School. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Mary Quinn McGlasson.

He is survived by: wife, Pamela Short Burlison; sons, Joshua Strickland and Jared Burlison; brothers, Stacey (Robin) McGlasson and Chris Burlison; parents–in-law, Carolyn and Harris Short; sister-in-law, Donna (Tommy) Holt; brother-in-law, Brian (Lisa) Short; nieces, Jessica and Kaitlin Holt and Amber, Emily and Sara Short.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 14 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Billie Friel officiating. Interment followed at Pulley-Hagar Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Angelo Lessary, Don Graham, Brad Robinson, Brandon Benderman, Caleb Meyer and Kyle Crecelius. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve McCay and Tween the Lakes Fishing Club members.

Tommy Wayne Burns, 40, Mt. Juliet, died Tuesday, July 10. 

Burns was a graduate of Mt. Juliet High School, Class of 1989. He was a former employee of Capitol City Bolt and Screw.

He is survived by: mother, Judy (Ray) Woodby; father, Ronnie Burns; daughter, Valarie Burns; brother, Larry Breedlove; sisters, Kimberly Ann Burns and Lisa Leigh Burns; grandson, Koen Burns; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 14 at Bond Memorial Chapel with William Wiley officiating. Interment followed at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Garry Prince Barrett, 61, Cookeville, formerly of Mt. Juliet, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 7 at Standing Stone Care & Rehab Center in Monterey. 

Barrett was born in Nashville June 3, 1951, a son of the late Betty Jo (Rowlette) and Prince Barrett. He served in the US Army Reserves for seven years during the Vietnam War, receiving the Good Conduct Medal. He worked as a Taxidermist and Author. He was a devout Christian and relied on his faith throughout his many adversities. He was a loving, devoted father, grandfather “Poppee”, brother and friend. 

Garry is survived by: daughter, Brandi R. Ashburn and husband Doug of Cookeville; sons,  Shane Barrett of Monterey; Trevor R. Barrett and wife Michelle of Cookeville; granddaughters, Ashlee R. Baker of Cookeville; Kristin F. Barrett of Lebanon; Haleigh A. Barrett of Monterey; Kylie J. Hansen and Katelyn D. Hansen both of Cookeville; grandson, Ethan A Barrett of Monterey; sister, Nanelle Cook and husband Buddy of Hendersonville; brother, Ernie Eddings and wife Ginger of Modesto, Calif.; special friend, Landis Sanders of Lebanon. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
