Elizabeth Hancock, 51, Sedalia, MO, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19,  at Bothwell Regional Health Center, Sedalia. 

She was born April 10, 1964 in Shreveport, La., the daughter of James Roy Helton II and Susan Grizzle Helton, who survive of Mt. Juliet.

On June 13, 1987 in Nashville, she was united in marriage to Edwin Lyle Hancock who survives of the home.

Terrie was a 1982 graduate of Dupont High School in Hermitage. She attended college and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1988. 

She also completed her Public Health Education Internship at RAF Fairford England, UK in 1988. 

She was an avid reader. Terrie also loved gardening, youth group mission trips, and playing with her grand dogs. She was known for being the famous “Cheesecake Lady” due to her skill and passion for cooking. 

She was able to influence many lives as a substitute teacher for many years. Terrie was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and of the First Baptist Church in Sedalia, MO.

Besides her parents and husband, she is survived by a son, Daniel Scott Hancock (Emilee) of Sedalia; a daughter, Laura Elizabeth Phillips (Derek) of Sedalia; and a sister, Lisa Catherine Hines (Deric) of Mt. Juliet.

A Celebration of Life service was held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24 at the First Baptist Church, Sedalia, MO, with Pastor Francis O’Donnell and Dr. Glenn Sparks officiating.

Visitation was held at the church from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23.

Honorary bearers included Deric Hines, David Hancock, David Ishihara, Craig Shimetz, Don Elder, Tommy Trail, and George Wolf.

Interment will be held at a later date in Nashville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Terrie Hancock Memorial Scholarship Fund at First Baptist Church, 200 East 6th Street, Sedalia, MO. 65301.

Raymond Argo, 61, Mt. Juliet passed away Aug. 5.

Argo was a professional upholster for 40 years. He loved his family, music and football, especially Vanderbilt and Titan football. His grandchildren, Nash, Gage and Adrian, were the lights of his life and top priority over anything else.

Argo was preceded in death by parents, Lonnie Lee and Annie Bell Argo; brother, William Ralph Argo; and sister, Jane Argo McDonough. He is survived by sons, Raymond Eric (Tracy) Argo and Lincoln Chase (Allison) Argo; brothers, Robert “Bob” Argo, Rodger Argo and Lonnie Lee “Buster” Argo, Jr.; sisters, Annie Ruth Jenkins, Mary (Max) Harden, Gail (Frankie) Baile, Louise Brothers and Ruby Baile; grandchildren, Adrian Rodgers, Nash Argo and Gage Argo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Saturday, Aug. 15 at Sellars Funeral Home in Mt. Juliet with Rev. Danny Sellars officiating. Interment followed the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

 Osie Dunn, 74, passed away Aug. 11. 

The Funeral Service was held Thursday, Aug. 13 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon, with visitation from 3 p.m. until the service.  Interment in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens followed the service.

Dunn, devoted wife, loving mother and Nanna, is survived by son Patrick Dunn (Tina); grandchildren: Tricia Abernathy, Cody Dunn (Abigail), and Patricia Deason (Michael); sister: Mary Jane Aunspaugh (Don); and great-grandchildren: Aubree Dunn, Evie Abernathy, Carsyn Skaggs, Gavyn Deason, Westyn Deason, and Emma Deason; and numerous nieces and nephews. Francine Hollis, 43, Mt. Juliet, died Aug. 13,  Francine was employed by Transfirst. She loved “oldies” music and her grandchildren. Francine was the daughter of the late, Gerald Thomas and Velma Lee Thurston Bequette.

She is survived  by daughter – Amanda (Brandon) Haven, sister Dawn (Danny) Federhofer. 

Former husband and best friend Timothy Hollis, godson Travis Hollis, grandchildren Tegan Bessette and Tatum Haven, former in-laws Al and Linda Hollis and several nieces and one great-nephew

Funeral services were Sunday, Aug. 16, at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment followed at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Peggy Malone, 73, passed away Aug. 6.

She was born Jan. 13, 1942 in Rockland, Maine.

She married Bob Malone on Sept. 8, 1962 in Roslyn, Pa.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ann Wetherbee Hamlin, and brother George III. Survived by husband Bob; sons, Charles, Guy, and James; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nephew, George IV (Crystal); and beloved brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Melissa Malone.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted by Pastor Greg Locke at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 23 at Global Vision Bible Church, 2060 Old Lebanon Dirt Road, Mt. Juliet. Visitation with family one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Global Vision Bible Church Food Bank.
