James Ray Mullins, 70, Mt. Juliet, passed away Feb. 25. 

He is survived by: his children, Michelle Duran (Stan), Mark McCord (Jennifer) and Bria Mullins; grandchildren, Robert and Katherine Duran, Amber, Mark, Ean and Maddie McCord; sister, Rebecca Hunt; brothers, Steve and Gary Mullins. 

A funeral service was Friday, March 1 at the Hermitage Funeral Home. Entombment followed in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family was Thursday, Feb. 28 and prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

Robert Ranard, 86, Mt. Juliet passed away March 3. 

Ranard was preceded in death by: parents, Elmo and Iva Ranard; wife, Retha Ranard; brother, Hubert Ranard; daughter, Norma Plemons; and granddaughter, Tasha Plemons. 

He is survived by: daughter, Linda Racey; brother, Bill (Wanda) Ranard; sister, Betty (Ray) Shonk; grandchildren, Greg Racey, Jeff Racey, Crystal (Marty) Allen and Christopher Plemons; great-grandchildren, Jessica Allen, Elizabeth Racey, Robert Racey, Abigail Plemons, Max Wallace Plemons and Kody Racey; and great-great-grandchild, Jace Ericson (Racey).

Funeral services are Friday, March 8 at 1 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Rev. Ray Pledger officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with Marty Allen, Greg Racey, :Jeff Racey, Christopher Plemons, Kody Racey and Robert Racey serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are: the Security Staff and Friends at Gaylord Opryland. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, March 6 from 4-8 p.m, Thursday, March 7 from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Friday.

Richard Carroll Bartley, 69, Mt. Juliet, passed away Thursday, Feb. 21. 

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Bonnie; children, Renae (Kevin) Droege, Jeff (Sherry), Emmert, Jennie Emmert and Scott (Carolyn) Emmert; brothers, Leroy, Larry, Lance, Lawrence and Gary Bartley; grandchildren, Jacquline, Brandi, Chelsi, Trey, Sarah and Chloe; two great grandchildren. 

A memorial service will be conducted Saturday, March 2 at 3 p.m. in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel. A committal service will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation with the family is 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Harold Lee Cassell, Sr., 70, Mt. Juliet, died Thursday, Feb. 21. 

Cassell was a member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Juliet. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as captain of the small bore competition rifle team. He was a member of the VFW and a life-long member of the NRA. Mr. Cassell was a pilot, a registered nurse and an expert marksman. He was the son of the late Alton Thurman and Grace Pauline Reeves Cassell. Mr. Cassell was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Cassell. 

He is survived by: wife of 45 years, Barbara Peeler Cassell; son, Hal (Cathy) Cassell; daughter, Leanne Malone; brothers, Jim (Nancy) Cassell and Robert (Julie) Cassell; sisters, Shelby Pewitt, Brenda (Bob) Taliaferro and Diane Stovall; grandchildren, Katie Malone and Sean Malone

Funeral services were 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Andy Hale officiating. Entombment followed at Woodlawn Cross Mausoleum.

The family prefers that memorials be made to the Gideons International.

Thomas Leavitt Cheney, 80, Hermitage, died Saturday, Feb. 23. 

Cheney was a member of Central Christian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea. He started Vol State Insulation Company, a commercial and industrial insulation business, which he ran until his retirement in 1995.

He is survived by: wife of 56 years, Sara Nausley Cheney; children, Sara (Alton) McConnell, Tom (Cathy) Cheney, Jr., Dorothy Dailey and John (Connie) Cheney; grandchildren, Sara Van Effen, Jenea Johnson, Tom, Taylor, Trevor and Torrey Cheney and Becky, Katie and Grace Braswell; three great-grandchildren

Cryptside services were 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
