Glenda Hire, 54, Mt. Juliet passed away July 30. 

She is preceded in death by parents, Junior and Cora Howard. She is survived by: husband of 31 years, Jerry Hire; children, Josie Hire, Jeremy Hire and Jamie (Joy) Hire; sisters, Kim (Kenny) Howell and Nancy Dawson; brother, Dwayne Howard; and grandchildren, Bryson Hire, Anthony Moss, Jake Hire and Luke Hire.

Funeral services were Sunday, Aug. 3 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Interment followed the service with family serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family was Saturday, Aug. 2 and Sunday, Aug. 3.

Peter Nelson Rynders, 74, Old Hickory, died Aug. 1. 

Rynders was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Rynders retired from Northern Telecom in 1997 and was later employed by Bass Pro Shop. He loved fishing and deer hunting. Mr. Rynders was the son of the late, Stuart and Maxine Nelson Rynders. 

He is survived by: wife of 34 years, Betty Rynders; sons, Mark (Lynn) Rynders and Jay (Maricor) Fletcher; daughters, Lisa (Patrick) O’Donnell and Beth Rich; brother, Ted (Pam) Rynders; grandchildren, Stephenie Bryant, Mark Rynders, Chad Rynders, Toni Rynders, Megan Rich, Michael Fletcher, Lyka Fletcher and Erica Fletcher; great-grandchildren, Hunter Williams and Riley Rynders; nephew, Eric (Char) Rynders.

A memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 10 under the boat canopy at Bass Pro Shop, 323 Opry Mills Drive, Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mt. Juliet Animal Shelter, 115 Industrial Drive, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122.

Minnie Sisco, 78, Mt. Juliet passed away Aug. 1. 

She is preceded in death by parents, James and Clara Mae Maxwell; daughter, Wanda Sue Sisco; and son, Jonah Bratten Sisco. 

She is survived by: sons, Joe Sisco, Michael Sisco and Willie Sisco; sisters, Bonnie Estes, Gail (Jerry) Cummings, Sheila Cummins and Doris Woods; grandchildren, Rachel Hunter, Jenny (Stephen) Bane and Amands Sisco; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Sisco, Tori Sisco, Wesley Hunter, Dalton Hunter, Stephanie Bane, Hailey Bane and Heaven Phann.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Aug. 7 at noon at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Interment will follow the service at Gordonsville Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, Aug. 6 from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, Aug. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Charles Dale Allmon, 75, Hermitage passed away July 28. 

Allmon worked for Ford Glass for 32 years. He was preceded in death by parents, Elzia and Maude Allmon; and sister, Jean Vantrease. 

He is survived by: wife, Diane Allmon; children, Angie Nelson and Charlie (Blakley) Allmon; sister, Lelar Carr; grandchildren, Michael Nelson, Kaylee Nelson, Allie Nelson, Savannah Allmon and Aniston Allmon; great-grandson, Noah Dale Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 31 at 5 p.m. at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet. Entombment will follow the service at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, July 30 from 4-8 p.m. and Thursday, July 31 from 2-5 p.m.

Major David Lawrence Devendorf (ret.), 85, Hermitage, died July 25. 

Lawrence was retired from the USAF with 20 years of service. He was also retired from the FAA Federal Aviation with 20 years of service. Mr. Lawrence was a member of the American Legion Donelson Post No. 88 for 38 years. He was the son of the late, Edward C. and Emma Ackerman Devendorf. Mr. Lawrence was also preceded in death by his wife, Wylodene “Litt” Devendorf and 3 brothers.

He is survived by: wife, Brenda Devendorf; son, Mark (Barbara Devendorf; sister, Gretchen Harvell; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at Bond Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Fred Poe officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at 1 p.m. at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. 

Friends will serve as pallbearers.
