Jon Setzer, 74, Lebanon, passed on to heaven on Feb. 10 and his beloved wife, Marion Irwin Setzer, 72, Lebanon, joined him Feb. 12. 

They were both born in Johnson City. Jon was born Feb. 27, 1939 and Marion was born  Jan. 1, 1942. They loved the Lord with all their hearts and spent their lives serving Him and loving those around them. 

They are survived by: Marion’s brother, Dr. John Bruce Irwin; their children, Laura, Kristy, Matthew, Marianna; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. 

A memorial fund has been set up in their names at Nashville First Church of the Nazarene. A memorial service to celebrate their lives was Saturday Feb. 22 at Nashville First Church of the Nazarene, 510 Woodland Street, Nashville, TN 37206. Visitation was until the time of service. James Deatrick, Sr., 83, Mt. Juliet, died Feb. 13. 

Deatrick was an active member of Green Hill Church of Christ. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and had 41 years of military service in the USAF and the Air National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post 5 in Nashville and the Air Force Sergeants Association. Mr. Deatrick was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings.

He is survived by: wife of 61 years, Gladys Williams Deatrick; son, James “Jimmy” Deatrick, Jr.; brothers, Donald Deatrick and Robert Deatrick; sisters, Dorothy Mattert, Lillian McDonald and Ruth Butz.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Bro. August Ruff officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Lane Wilson, Houston Stanton, Robert Evans, Richard Kendall, Ron Nunley and Marion Nunley. Honorary pallbearers will be U.S. Postal Service employees and the Tennessee Air National Guard.

James Haines, 80, Mt. Juliet, passed away Feb. 14. 

Haines was retired from the US Air Force and owner of Haines Trucking for almost 40 years. Haines was preceded in death by wife of 59 years, Jean Haines; his parents; and sister, Marlene Hutton. He is survived by his daughter, Janice Baltimore; brother, Mike (Polly) Jameson; sister-in-law, Joyce (Arlis) Anderson; grandchildren, J. (Heidi) Huett and Adrian Huett (Adam Davidson); great-grandchildren, Dylan, Jaden, Caitlin and Jacob Huett; and nephews, Tony Anderson and Toby Anderson. 

Funeral services were Tuesday, Feb. 18 at Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet with Bro. Sean Cook officiating. Interment followed the service at Wright Cemetery, Mt. Juilet, with J. Huett, Adam Davidson, Todd Lankes, Blake Butler, Bud Richardson, and Daniel Morgan serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are: Tony Anderson, Toby Anderson, Dean McKaskle and Duane McKaskle. Visitation with the family was Monday, Feb. 17 and Tuesday, Feb. 18 until time of service.

Roy Ellen Hammann, 83, Louisville, Ky., and formerly of Nashville, died Feb. 17. 

Hammann was a 1948 graduate of East High School. She graduated from Memphis Baptist School of Nursing in 1951 and Memphis State College in 1960. A RN, she retired from St. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in 1995. Hammann was preceded in death by her mother, Annie Louis Fuqua and her grandparents, T. LaRoy and Susie Ellen Carver Fuqua. She was also preceded in death by her dear husband, Earl William Hammann.

She is survived by: cousins, Richard Kelly and Ruby Gleaves, Owen and Linda Gleaves, Sue Ella Buttrey, all of Mt. Juliet, and Frances Nichols of Lebanon, and many other cousins who live in Aldie, Purcellville and Charlottesville, Va. and Dayton and Petersburg. She is also survived by very dear friends, Louise Courtney and Lee Yarwood both of Olive Branch, Miss. and Ruthie Miller of Louisville, Ky.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the P.M. Carver-Fuqua-Gleaves Cemetery on Guill Road in Mt. Juliet. Active pallbearers will be Richard Kelly Gleaves, Jr., David Jason Gleaves, Jesse Paul Gleaves, Danny Mason Gleaves, Justin Buttrey and Josh Buttrey. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Danny Gleaves Memorial Fund at Mt. Juliet High School (ATTN: FFA Sponsor) or Baptist Tabernacle, 2854 Market Street, Louisville, KY 40212.

Jesse Douglas Manning, 53, Mt. Juliet, died Feb. 13.

Doug was the son of the late, Charles Perry and Edna Mae Pond Manning. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Musgrove.

He is survived by: children, Marisa (Tim) Henson and Stephen Manning; siblings, Raybon E. (Carrie) Manning, Sherry (Jeff) Hackett, Belinda J. Kennedy and Donna E. Moore; grandson, Cooper Henson.

Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 17 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Honorary pallbearers were Stephen Manning, Tim Henson, Raybon Manning, Jeff Hackett, R.C. Pond, Ryan Kennedy, Anthony Oliver, Jerry Blanton and Mike Deweese.
