Fires on Cardiff Lane and Whitnell Dr. Monday night into Tuesday morning destroyed two houses.

The home on Cardiff Lane in the Chandler Pointe subdivision (pictured above) caught fire around 9 a.m. Tuesday.

All three people in the house were able to get out safely.

The home on Whitnell Drive caught fire around midnight. All family members were able to escape, but the family dog perished in the fire. Both fires are under investigation. 

There have been five fires in the past 48 hours in Wilson County.
