|Lady Bears dominate Hillsboro, Bears fall on buzzer beater|

Sally McCabe poured in 26 points as the Mt. Juliet Lady Bears had no trouble with visiting Hillsboro Friday in a 67-23 win.
McCabe had 12 of those points in the first quarter as the Lady Bears jumped out to a 19-3 lead by the end of the first. The lead ballooned to 35-11 by the half, and 59-16 by the end of the third.
McCabe finished the night with 26 points, eight rebounds and three blocks. Rae DeGray poured in 15 and had six steals.

A putback by Brandon Cody as time expired gave Hillsboro the win in the boys game, 43-42.
The Bears had battled back after falling behind 13-0 in the first.
Hillsboro led 18-6 at the end of the first, but Mt. Juliet outscored the Burros 16-4 in the second quarter to tie it up. James Womack dropped it in to tie the game just before the halftime buzzer.
John Mark Bell gave the Bears their first lead in the third quarter with a three-pointer at the 6:55 mark. The Bears led going into the final quarter, 35-31.
It was a back and forth battle in the final frame, as Hillsboro was able to take the lead late 41-38.
Nolan Chowbay got the Bears a little closer with two free throws, and Reagan Johnson gave the Bears the lead with under a minute to go with two more free throws.
Hillsboro ran the clock down, and a few shots rimmed out. The Burros kept coming up with the loose balls, and Brandon Cody tipped the ball in just before the buzzer sounded for the win.
Chowbay led the way with 11 points.

The Lady Bears will travel to Lebanon for their Thanksgiving classic. Mt. Juliet will play Columbia Friday at 1:30 p.m. and Stewarts Creek Saturday at noon. The Bears will go to LaVergne for their Thanksgiving Classic. They kick off things Friday at 9 a.m. versus Ravenwood.
