Fire Department to conduct demonstrations

The Fire Department of Mt. Juliet will conduct multiple demonstrations Saturday, Oct. 7 at Stoner Creek Elementary School, from 9 a.m. until noon.

The demonstrations, labeled “Fire/Rescue Ops 101,” is part of the department’s recognition of Fire Awareness Month in October.

“The Fire Department of Mt. Juliet invites the public to watch our City Leaders feel the heat and get a hands-on experience as a firefighter. Come get a close up view of the daily demands faced by the men and women of FDMJ,” according to a flyer released by the department.

Demonstrations will include an interactive initial attack search and rescue demo and a doll house fire behavior demo.

The department will also present a burn cell and live fire demo with real time fire attack. The public will see the firefighters in a vehicle extrication scenario and be able to view the trucks up close.

Stoner Creek Elementary is located at 1035 N. Mt. Juliet Rd.
