The 10th annual GladeFest will be held in Gladeville on Saturday, Sept. 15. The event offers fun for the entire family, with most activities taking place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.Early birds can start the day with breakfast at Gladeville Elementary School, sponsored by the Mt. Juliet Chick-Fil-A, offered from 7:30 to 10 a.m. The GladeFest 5K Run starts at 8 a.m., with registration beginning at 7 a.m.
Most GladeFest events will kick off at 9 a.m. Among the main festivities are a farmers market; a live auction; a chili cookoff and dessert bakeoff at Gladeville Elementary’s fall festival; pony rides; a live entertainment stage sponsored by Sonic; antique car, tractor and engine displays; and free children’s inflatables at Wilson Bank & Trust. Baseball games will also take place throughout the day at the Gladeville ball field.
From 9 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., registration will be open for the antique/classic car and truck show, with awards to be presented at 2:30 p.m. Sponsored by Manheim Nashville and Cumberland Auto Body Repair, the auto show offers an opportunity to see a variety of antique and classic vehicles from across Tennessee and surrounding states.
There’s no need to worry about going hungry at GladeFest. In addition to a variety of food vendors offering concessions ranging from hamburgers and barbecue to homemade pies, the Gladeville United Methodist Church men’s club will be having their annual fish fry beginning at 11 a.m., with freshly cooked fish and all the trimmings topped off with homemade desserts.
To showcase the Gladeville community history, a quilt contest and a photography contest will be held inside Wilson Bank & Trust’s Gladeville office. Quilt and photography entries will be accepted on September 7 and 8 at the bank, located at 8875 Stewarts Ferry Pike.
