The Mt. Juliet and Wilson Central softball teams picked up wins last week.
The Mt. Juliet softball team traveled to Louisville, Ky. over the weekend to compete in the Super Prep Event. They came away with a 4-1 win over Lakota West (Ohio).
It was scoreless through the first two innings, but Tyffany Cargile’s RBI base hit put the Lady Bears up 1-0.
In the fourth, Michelle Mason got a 2-RBI single to extend the Mt. Juliet lead.
Cargile would come through again in the seventh to push the lead out to 4-0.
Lakota West would get a run in the bottom of the inning, but the Lady Bears came out with the win.
Wilson Central came away with a 8-1 victory over Smyrna Friday.
The Lady Wildcats got two home runs in the game, the first from Morgan Powell, and another from Morgan Stokes.
Powell’s was a solo shot, and she finished the day 2-for-4.
Stokes was 1-for-2 with three RBIs.
Shelby Woodard finished the night 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
Katie Eakes was 3-for-4 with a RBI.
Kayla Varner also picked up a RBI in the game.
The win improved the Lady Wildcats to 26-6-1 on the season.
Mt. Juliet will travel to Wilson Central Thursday for a 5 p.m. game.
