This year marks 20 years for the Mt. Juliet Hockey club. The Bears hockey team started back in the 1999-2000 season and became part of the GNASH, Greater Nashville Association of Scholastic Hockey.
When GNASH began, also 20 years ago, only seven other high school teams took part to play one another.
Mt. Juliet has had co-op teams with Wilson Central and Rossview High School over the years. Due to the growth in hockey and the GNASH Rules, the Mt. Juliet Hockey club has not had a co-op team with any other school in the past three years.
As a celebration of the team’s anniversary, an alumni game will be played at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at Centennial Sportsplex, followed by a celebration of the Mt. Juliet Hockey Club at Rhythm Saloon. The celebration at Rythym Saloon will start at 8:30 p.m.
Players that will play in the alumni game include:
Cory Lauer, Dan Needleman, Steve Pionke, Sean Kotora, Justin Bracey, Davey Stephens, Alex Sherman, Colin Chadwick, Timothy Muhsman, Evan Reams, James Smith, Tommy Lynch, Nick King, Cade Crosslin, Kyle Knell, Vince Haller, Drew Bracey, Tanner Walsh, Nick Horne, Alex Rich, Jeong Choe, Dustin Smith, Brad Hambrick, Dakota Janiro, Dillion Massia, Eddie Hansurger, Logan Bailey.
