Mt. Juliet native leads field to qualify for U.S. Amateur Championship

Lipscomb rising senior, Stoney Crouch, used a -6, 134 to punch his ticket to the 2016 USGA U.S. Amateur on Tuesday at the Dayton Country Club in Dayton, Ohio.

Crouch brought home medalist honors in the USGA Amateur Qualifier behind rounds of 66 and 68 to top the field of 73 golfers attempting to advance.  The Mt. Juliet, Tennessee native sank 10 birdies on the day to move on to the U.S. Amateur hosted at the Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills Michigan.  The 116th championship will take place August 15-21 on the South course that has hosted 16 Major Championships.

It marks the second straight trip to the U.S. Amateur for Crouch after making his debut at the event in 2015.
