Mt. Juliet talks potential TriStar ER facility location off of I-40 and Paddocks Shopping Center expansion
Mt. Juliet Chamber of Commerce held its monthly economic community development meeting on Friday, September 9th, discussing the city of Mt. Juliet’s growth and possible developments.
Business owners and city leaders gathered to report to the citizens of Mt. Juliet the town’s economic state and extreme population growth.
Mt. Juliet Director of Public Relations & Affairs, Dennis Buchanan, and City Economic Development Coordinator, Audrea Smithson, spoke at the morning meeting.
“It’s amazing how many phone calls we get each day of businesses interested in coming to Mt. Juliet,” Buchanan said.
Buchanan mentioned TriStar interest in a possible location off of Interstate 40 in Wilson County.
“I have been in discussion with TriStar Health as they search to put an emergency medical facility near Interstate 40,” said Buchanan. “That is one of the big projects that we are working on right now, trying to help TriStar come to our town.”
Audrea Smithson reported on mentioned rumors of the expansion at the Paddocks Shopping Center.
Smithson commented saying that an announcement on tenants was imminent and that they are hoping for a November announcement.
“We are waiting on one more lease to be signed by one of the big box stores,” stated Smithson.
Smithson also added that a St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital is considering Mt. Juliet as a location for a candidate “Dream Home” giveaway which was started in 1991.
“They are one step closer to making a commitment to Mt. Juliet,” said Smithson.
