The City of Mt. Juliet Planning Commission approved site plans for the additions to West Wilson Middle School and Rutland Elementary Thursday.

Both schools, along with West Elementary and Watertown High School, were voted to get changes or a completely new school in the case of Watertown by the county. The additions to West Wilson will add 28 classrooms and 39,000 square feet, as well as get rid of the portables. Rutland Elementary will have another school, roughly the same size as the existing one, attached by an outdoor walkway. It will add 38 classrooms and 79,000 square feet. Both were approved unanimously.

An American Family Care in Paddocks was also approved. The building will be south of where the Longhorn Steakhouse will be at the corner of Old Pleasant Grove Road and Mt. Juliet Road.

The commission also approved annexation and an amendment to the Final Master Development Plan to Del Webb Lake Providence. A preliminary plat for Providence Landing Phase 3, Section 1 was also approved.
