SCHULERT, Ruth Barbara

Ruth Barbara Schulert, 93, Mt. Juliet, died Jan. 21.
Schulert was a native of Perry, Mich. and the daughter of the late, Walter Darling and Jenny Hill Darling. She graduated from Perry High School in 1944 and Bob Jones University in 1948. Schulert spent the first 25 years of her adult life as a homemaker raising her children, including five years in Cairo, Egypt, where her husband did medical research. She spent the next two decades as an elementary school teacher at Donelson Christian Academy and Mt Juliet Christian School. She volunteered weekly at the Mt Juliet Help Center. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Arthur Schulert; son, Timothy Schulert; brothers, Victor, Robert, Thomas and Donald Darling; son-in-law, Timothy Huckabay and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Schulert.d not
She is survived by: children, Barbara Huckabay, Mark Schulert, Jean (Ed) Coley, Philip Schulert, Andrew (Joy) Schulert and Peter (Susan) Schulert; daughter-in-law, Laurie Schulert; 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews
Visitation with the family was Sunday, Jan. 24 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Graveside services will be private. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ruth Schulert Scholarship Fund.
