Teacher of the Year – Molly Chlum

Molly Chlum is Lakeview Elementary’s Teacher of the Year.
Chlum, a fourth grade teacher, is in her fourth year at LES, and ninth overall. She has taught special education and third grade as well.
“We are always here for each other,” said Chlum of her peers at LES. “We push each other to be the best we can be.”
Chlum also said that the parent involvement is key, because they are very helpful in the success of their students.
Chlum’s approach to teaching is simple: students first. She said she always strives to develop good relationships with her students because she believes if they know that she cares about them, the learning will come along with it.
“I was incredibly honored,” said Chlum of winning Teacher of the Year. “Everyone in the school works so hard, so that they picked me was amazing.”
Chlum will now have a chance to win Wilson County Teacher of the Year. The winner will be named at a banquet tentatively scheduled (due to possible COVID-19 guidelines) for Friday, April 23.
