Wayne E. Suey, 71, Nashville, died July 6.
Ed was born in Pana, Ill. in 1943 where he graduated from Pana High School in 1961. He married Wendy Hammond in 1963. Ed founded The Journeymen Quartet in 1965 in Decatur, Ill. and they traveled and performed throughout the Midwest. Ed and family moved to Nashville in 1980 where he founded and operated Medi-Call Ambulance Service. He was a long time member of Christ Church. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Preceded in death by parents, William and Juanita Suey; sister, Marion Hildebrand; and brother, James R. Suey.
He is survived by: his wife of 52 years, Wendy Suey; daughters, Angela Ross and Keli Miller; son, Wayne Edward “Eddie” (Amanda) Suey, II; six grandchildren, Grant Miller, Phillip Ross, Megan Ross, Wayne Edward “Trey” (Riley) Suey, III, John Cole Suey and Katey Suey; two great grandchildren, Lily Ana Miller and Bonnie Piper Suey; sister, Joyce Ubbenga; and brothers, David, Fred and Tom Suey. Visitation was Friday, July 10 at Woodbine Funeral Home, Hickory Chapel, 5852 Nolensville Road, and Saturday at the church.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 11 in Wallace Chapel at Christ Church, 15354 Old Hickory Blvd. Interment Christ Church Memorial Gardens. Family and friends served as Pallbearers.
